There are some positives and negatives to the modern dating scene. On the one hand, it's easier than ever to meet new people looking for the same things you are with the invention of dating apps, dating websites, and everything similar. On the other, online dating has its major drawbacks, including the high possibility of sending a typo, picture, or any kind of message that you never meant to send.

One TikTok user from Vancouver learned this lesson the hard way, and it definitely didn't bring her her Mr. Right, although it did bring her a lot of views on TikTok.

Tinder can be difficult.

Not only are you trying to figure out if someone's a good match for you based off just pictures and text, it also doesn't allow you to call each other or send voice-notes, so sometimes you can't really get a feel for who you're talking on on the other end.

That's why when one woman, Vanessa, matched with a guy named Alex, she took their conversation to WhatsApp, a texting service that did allow for voice-notes, where he promptly sent her one in greeting. Vanessa's friend Paolo shared a video about the situation on TikTok, where he played the voice-note and Vanessa's unfortunate response.

“Hi Vanessa, this is Alex, nice to hear your voice before, whereabouts are you staying in Vancouver?” Alex's message is heard in the video.

“She wanted to respond and accidentally sent this,” the caption on Paolo's video says as Vanessa goes to play the voice-note that she sent in response by accident, which was a four second clip of her and her friends bursting into raucous laughter.

Obviously, this response would not be a big confidence booster for any guy, but the people in the comments thought it was hilarious.

“That is the correct response,” one commenter wrote, adding that Alex's initial message made him sound like a player.

In an update, Vanessa shared that she had sent Alex the original TikTok, saying, “I’m sorry you’re going viral lol," and explaining, “I meant to say something but then it just sent. I thought I had a re-do.”

“Haha thank you for the free exposure," Alex responded.

But, according to Vanessa, he ended their conversation by blocking her, so it looks like this accidental voice-note won't be leading to true love just yet.
