The celebrity world is both wide-ranging and weirdly small at the same time. Everyone knows, for example, that Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez are brothers, but there are plenty of obscure celebrity connections that slip under the radar.

Let's explore some of these weird celeb connections.

Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton

Remember Paris Hilton? She was the socialite everyone was talking about in the early 2000s. Back then, her personal assistant, the person who ran errands and cleaned for her, was a little-known socialite on the rise, Kim Kardashian.

Sigmund Freud came up with innumerable psychological theories and Salvador Dali produced innumerable weird paintings. The two crossed paths in 1937, and Dali sketched a portrait of Freud to mark the occasion.

It's hard to imagine any connection between the world of digging through the ditches and burning through the witches with Pee-wee Herman, but back before Zombie's music career, he was a production assistant on Pee-wee's Playhouse.

Ving Rhames and Stanley Tucci

The two actors were roommates in college. If you've ever wondered why Irving Rhames changed his name to Ving, it was done at Tucci's suggestion.

It seems like all British celebs know each other, and here's yet another example. Swinton and the future Princess of Wales were classmates at boarding school.

Much like the Mickey Mouse Club connection between various stars, Lovato and Gomez first met as children when they appeared on Barney and Friends.

Cher and Anthony Kiedis

It stands to reason that Cher and the Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman would have met at one point or another. Their first meeting was way back in the day though, as Cher used to babysit the young Kiedis.

These guys obviously know each other from their time on The Office, but the connection runs way deeper as they played Little League baseball together in the sixth grade.

This one is perhaps unsurprising as Tyson has repeatedly named Sagan as one of his heroes. But they did meet back when Tyson was applying to Cornell. The meeting, Tyson says, inspired his future path.

Paul Rudd and Jon Hamm

Paul Rudd, who doesn't age, and Jon Hamm, who's looked like a 40-year-old since he was 20, dated the same girl in college. Her name was Sarah and she was the sister of one of Rudd's friends.

Julian Assange and Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson is a big supporter of the Wikileaks founder, defending him on numerous occasions. She's also visited him at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he's holed up. The weirdest part? No one's really sure why they're friends.

Lauryn Hill and Zach Braff aren't usually mentioned in the same sentence, but maybe they should be. They were childhood friends and Hill even attended Braff's bar mitzvah.

Michael Bay and Leonard Nimoy

We associate Michael Bay with plotless, explosion-heavy blockbusters and we associate the late Leonard Nimoy with thoughtful galactic introspection, but the two were actually related by marriage as Bay's cousin married Nimoy.

It's fairly common knowledge that Ray J and Brandy are siblings, but what slides under the radar is that both are first cousins with the Doggfather himself.
