If there's one friendship in Hollywood we didn't know we needed, it's Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. The pair played a mother and daughter at odds in the 2007 Disney flick, Freaky Friday.

After everything Lindsay has been through over the years, Jamie-Lee has her back. She recently defended her movie daughter in a new interview. Come see what she had to say!

Lindsay Lohan is having a comeback.

By now, we're all aware of her fall from grace that happened in the late '00s, and for most of the past decade. This included several drug busts, a DUI charge, and fights that involved assault. She even spent one day in jail in 2007.

Her partying ways and trouble with the law soon overshadowed her acting career, which included 'The Parent Trap,' 'Mean Girls,' and 'Freaky Friday.'

The movies that she did make during this time of trouble weren't met with rave reviews. When she played Elizabeth Taylor in Liz & Dick, she was called "awful" and criticized for her "frozen face."

Lindsay disappeared from the spotlight — and even America — after that.

She now lives in Dubai. "Moving here was a fresh start," she told Emirates Woman in 2018. She added that avoiding public security was another major factor. "I don't have to be publicly seen all the time, or discuss what I'm doing."

Soon, Lindsay's life seemed to be taking a turn for the better.

This past November, she got engaged to Bader Shammas, who also lives in Dubai. Most recently, the actress signed a deal with Netflix to star in two upcoming holiday-centric romantic comedies. The first film, Falling for Christmas, marks her first acting role in years.

Go, Lindsay! But while some people are still doubtful about Lindsay's comeback, there's one person who never lost hope: Jamie Lee Curtis.

The pair have been close ever since they played a mother and daughter who swapped bodies in Disney's Freaky Friday.

The popular film, which also starred Chad Michael Murray, was based on the 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers.

Curtis wasn't even supposed to star as the mother in the film, but she got the job after the original actress dropped out.

We're so glad she did because Jamie Lee and Lindsay were magic in it!

During a recent interview with 'People," Curtis revealed that the pair are still close.

This happened after the interviewer asked the 63-year-old if she saw Lindsay's Super Bowl commercial for Planet Fitness.

In the commercial, titled 'What's Gotten Into Lindsay?', the Mean Girls star pokes fun at her wild past.

She flips the script on some of her most tabloid-worthy moments, while simultaneously showing how she's reaping the benefits of regular exercise.

She opts to stay home over a wild night of partying, leaves paparazzi crying because she's not starting fights with them, and gives a cheeky nod to her legal issues when making bedazzled ankle tags.

Curtis confirmed she had seen the television spot, adding, "I'm just happy that she's happy." "She is a great talent."

"And she's had a lot on her plate at a very young age. It seems like she is settling into a really happy domestic life — she's engaged."

Even after all these years, she confirmed that she and Lindsay are still in contact.

"We're in contact, and the fact that she can poke fun at herself a little [means] we can all poke fun at ourselves, believe me."

She continued:

"Show business is very difficult, and being in front of the tabloid press is very difficult, it's really brutal. So God bless her."

God bless, Lindsay, indeed!

We're so happy that she's feeling happier and healthier than ever lately.

And although we have to wait until Christmas to see her films with Netflix, a comeback like this is worth the wait.
