In 2020, fans were devastated to learn that beloved actor and father Jeff Bridges had been diagnosed with lymphoma. The news came as a surprise to fans because the actor is known for keeping his private life, well, private. However, in the months following his diagnosis, the 72-year-old would periodically check in with fans and thank them for their support.

Now, Jeff is giving fans a positive update, and we couldn't be more thrilled!

In October 2020, Jeff Bridges revealed to fans that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma.

"Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good. I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery," he tweeted at the time, adding that he was grateful for all the love and well-wishes he was receiving.

"This cancer thing is bringing on feelings of preciousness & gratitude & good old fashioned love," Jeff added at the time.

"I'm feeling so much of it comin' my way, & man, I appreciate it," he continued. "It's contagious, all this love, like some kind of positive virus."

Now, a year and a half later, the actor is sharing an update, and fans will be happy to know it's a positive one!

While appearing on a virtual panel to promote his upcoming FX series The Old Man, Jeff revealed he feels “terrific," as reported by People.

I know, right? I'm so happy, too!

"As far as I’m concerned, FX and all of the team were so considerate and gave me all of the time I needed to heal and all the support I needed," he explained.

“The protocols — we were still in COVID — made me feel very safe and eager to get down to business and play."

In the show, Jeff plays a man in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's disease. During the panel, he explained how his own life experiences shaped the role for him.

“In times like that, it seems like all your philosophies and spirituality comes to you. It tests you,” he said.

"All of that has been made more mature by that experience,” he added.

"I’ve always approached life the same way, [but this] made things sharper."

We're just so thrilled Jeff is on the up and up!
