Celebrities gathered at the 2022 Oscars looking like a million bucks including actor, Elliot Page. In 2020, Page came out as transgender and non-binary, explaining that he's finally living as his "authentic self." Well, it looks like things have only gotten better, as Page expressed feelings of joy as he sported a suit to the recent awards show. We couldn't be happier for Page and his sharp new lease on life that makes him both a trailblazer and overall snappy dresser.

Page felt "trans joy" as he walked the red carpet.
Wearing a suit for some may feel like a small feat, but for Page, it was liberating. He explained
during an Instagram Live with trans activist Raquel Willis and ACLU's Chase Strangio, that he felt "trans joy," which was created by the autonomy to present himself the way he chooses. He said, "Simply that I can feel present in a space without this incessant underlying anxiety or some sort of feeling like I need to flee." Page felt at home seeing himself as the version of the person that he always dreamed of.

The support he's received has "saved" his life.
Being able to feel comfortable in your own body is a privilege that not everyone has, so when Page says the opportunity to truly be himself is important — it's really important. He explained, "The enormous amount of privilege, the enormous amount of resources I've had absolutely, unequivocally saved my life — from therapy to my surgery, and so many things between."
He realizes that those in the trans community seldom have the resources and support they need and deserve, but he does.

A recent Instagram Live was all about supporting the trans community.
For Page, it's not just about his empowerment, it's about the empowerment of his entire community. During a recent IG Live, he addressed anti-trans bills in the United States, including the so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill in Florida that bans classrooms from talking about LGBTQIA topics. Page explained that there's too much "misinformation" and need for queer people to constantly explain their existence.
In fact, Page wants people to stay informed on all anti-trans rhetoric.
As if the "Don't Say Gay" bill isn't traumatic enough, Page has also used his Instagram page to turn attention to the Texas Attorney General's rhetoric about "gender transition of minors" being "child abuse." Page stands up against those that try to erase and stigmatize trans communities.
Page's role on Netflix's 'The Umbrella Academy' is changing, too.

Many fans of the hit Netflix series, The Umbrella Academy, were thrilled that the upcoming Season 3 will include a special surprise. While Page will be reprising his role on the show, it won't be as the character Vanya. In honor of who Page truly is, Vanya Hargreeves will transition into Viktor Hargreeves. That's right, both Page and Hargreeves are trans, which is a huge win for trans representation in television.
Netflix is excited to have Viktor on the show.
As soon as the announcement was made that Page would be portraying Viktor, the support from Netflix and The Umbrella Academy flowed in on Twitter. The Umbrella Academy commented on the Netflix post, writing, "Number 7 [hearts] Viktor Hargreeves." It looks like Viktor is fitting right in with his super-powered family.
No matter what people say, Page is true to himself.
It looks like both Page and Viktor are here to stay.
Page first came out in 2020 when he made the announcement, "Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life." Page seems to be in a place of love that no one can take away.
We're loving his Oscar-worthy confidence.
To little surprise, joy is a great look for Page---plus, the suit is pretty sharp. He explained during the Instagram Live that, "I feel the best I've ever felt like, like, I feel the way that I really never thought was possible." People can go their entire lives and never feel true to themselves, which is just one of the many things that makes Page's self-love journey so inspiring.
