Rage Against The Machine Will Reunite To Headline Coachella

Fans of politically-charged hard rock act Rage Against The Machine have been treated to a curious emotional roller coaster over the last couple of decades.

While many can recall the period in which most of the band teamed up with late Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell to form Audioslave, they likely didn't imagine that just a short time after that band called it quits, RATM would reunite in 2007.

And while the band has been known to pull a few surprise performances amid their winding roads of solo works and side projects, it seemed unlikely that we would see them again for a while.

And yet, we have confirmation that they're back to keep us guessing once again.

Just this morning, Rage Against The Machine quietly dropped some upcoming tour dates throughout social media platforms.

Although it may seem unlike the band to do anything quietly, an associate named Wayne Kamemoto confirmed to Forbes that "the band's social media is accurate."

This will be the first time they've publicly played together since 2011.

As Forbes reported, that rare treat was at the LA Rising show at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

A little tracking of the band's professional history, however, indicates that they tend to be most active during election seasons.

For instance, their first reunion in 2007 occurred when the 2008 Presidential Election was already on people's minds.

Similarly, the onset of the 2016 Presidential Election saw guitarist, Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk join forces with B-Real of Cypress Hill and Chuck D of Public Enemy to form a massive super group called Prophets of Rage.

With this in mind, it's likely that the upcoming 2020 Presidential Election is a significant factor in their decision to reunite yet again.
