Blake Lively And Ryan Reynold's Most Iconic Couple Moments

“Blake runs the show, I would kind of really phone things in if it wasn’t for her," Reynolds said of he and Lively's parenting styles while speaking with David Letterman.

He admits that Lively taught him everything when it came to cooking, conceding that having to take care of their three daughters without her, even temporarily, would be extremely difficult.

Much like the birthday posts, these two get a kick out of trolling the other. One of the most well-known instances of this was back in 2021 when Reynolds announced he was going to be taking a break from acting, to which Lively had the perfect response.

She simply replied, "Michael Cane did it first," as this wasn't long after people suspected Michael Cane was retiring. A little jab isn't out of place when we know the couple is so supportive of each other otherwise!

Many couples will back up the claim that it's important to be friends with your significant other, including Blake and Ryan. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Reynolds said of his and Lively's marriage, "We don’t take each other too seriously, but we're also friends."

"Falling in love is great, but do you like each other? That's kinda the question you gotta ask yourself, you know, going into it. We've always liked each other. We grow together. We learn from each other. [...] So yeah, I'm lucky to have a buddy in that."

While Ryan clearly considers his kids to be extremely important figures in his life, he'll never claim to be a perfect parent. When asked about his and Blake's parenting skill or style, he replied, "[We're] probably like a brown belt at this point?”

Brown belts are the second-highest ranking in karate, meaning he believes there good parents, but there are always ways they could be better. "I don’t know. We’re working up the chain of command," he said.

These two do not shy away from using their status to encourage people to do the right thing.

They once posed with their newborn baby among the trees of British Columbia to encourage Canadians to vote in the upcoming election, and when war broke out in Ukraine, they partnered with the UN Refugee Agency to raise money for displaced Ukrainians, matching donations up to $1 million.

She originally sported a copper dress with a large sash tied around it, but then a team arrived to unravel the sash and show off a light teal train. She said the dress was inspired by New York Architecture, namely the Statue of Liberty.

Multiple videos captured his gleeful expression as he watched his wife's dress transform before his very eyes. He sports a bright smile throughout, unable to take his eyes off her as she poses for photos.

Among their most well-known gags are the recurring birthday posts one will make on the others' big day, with photos that often stray from the conventional.

There was the year that Lively posted a photo of Ryan Gossling instead of Ryan Reynolds, or the year Reynolds posted a series of photos where Lively only ever had her eyes closed. They're a couple with perfectly complimentary senses of humor!

While a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Meyers asked Reynolds to confirm a story he'd heard about the actor playing Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get It On' in the delivery room while Lively was in labor.

"It was like steak knives came out of her eyes," he said when Meyers asked how that went, "[...] I think I just caught her right in the middle of a contraction because she was pretty much making jokes the entire time."

Being such A-list celebrities means they also have some famous friends. One well-known pal of theirs is Taylor Swift, who the couple actually teamed up with the announce the name of their third baby.

When Swift released her 2020 album 'Folklore', there was a track on it named 'Betty'. In that song were the names of Lively and Reynolds' two other children, James and Ines, leading fans to believe that Betty is what they planned on naming the baby that Lively was still pregnant with at the time. They were right!

Swift's song 'Gorgeous' also features the voice of their first-born James Reynolds!

As previously mentioned, this duo loves pushing each other's buttons and trolling each other online. This is something Livley seems to be passing down as Reynolds said in an interview with People, "My wife trolls the crap out of me. Why would I go online? I've got it right here at home. [...] Even my daughters now troll me, so like I'm safe from nothing."

I wonder who they could be learning that from?

Making sacrifices is necessary in any relationship, but for a couple as famous as these two, some of those sacrifices come with higher stakes.

They have an agreement to never work on a movie at the same time, as doing so would keep them extremely separated and they'd never have time for each other. This means sometimes a project, no matter how much it's loved, has to be turned down.

An amazing story like theirs had to have some fairy-tale beginnings. How they got their start is already fantastical to us onlookers, but even by actor standards, it's pretty magical!

The two met on the set of the 2011 film Green Lantern, in which Reynolds played main character Hal Jordan and Lively played love interest Carol Ferris. Both actors were seeing someone else at the time, but something must have happened on the set of that film, as all within the same year they both split with their previous partners and got together.

Given all this, it's no surprise that Hollywood loves this couple so much. They're humble, generous, funny, and probably among the more relatable uber-famous celebrities we have! They've brought smiles to so many faces across the world just by being themselves.

The two have been married for eight years now, have three children, and are always proving that they're the happiest family in Hollywood.
