It's been said time and time again that death isn't the end, rather, it's only the beginning. Death is the great unknown, the next journey, the likes of which the living will never come to know.

While we all know that death is inevitable, it doesn't make it any less difficult to deal with. So as a way to pay respect to those who have left us far too soon, here are 15 celebrities who have died in 2022.

Louie Anderson

'90s kids will most likely recall Louie as the former host of Family Feud, as well as from his satirical semi-autobiographical cartoon, Life with Louie. Louie sadly passed away after suffering complications due to a cancer diagnosis.

Fred Ward

Fred Ward made a career off of being "that guy" from "that movie/show." Fred had numerous memorable performances over the course of his career but was known best for his work in Tremors. He passed at the age of 79; the cause of death was never disclosed.

Meat Loaf

Meat Loaf was the legendary Rock n' Roll icon behind such classic hits as "Bat Out Of Hell," "Paradise By The Dashboard Light," and "I'd Do Anything For Love." He passed at the age of 74 due to a COVID-related illness.

Ivan Reitman was the visionary director/screenwriter/filmmaker behind such films as Stripes, Kindergarten Cop, and Ghostbusters. He passed peacefully in his sleep on February 12th at the age of 75, and his death appears to have been from natural causes.

Sidney Poitier

In 1963, Sidney Poitier become the first Black man ever to win the Academy Award for "Best Actor." He died at the age of 94, due to a combination of Alzheimer's, dementia, heart failure, and prostate cancer.

Liz Sheridan was a hilarious shining light and a brilliant comedic actress. She's probably best remembered for playing Jerry's mother, Helen, on the hit '90s sitcom — Seinfeld. Sheridan passed away peacefully at the age of 93, due to natural causes.

William Hurt

Neal Adams was a god in the comic book world. He was revered by the likes of Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld as the greatest and most influential Batman artist to ever live. He was 80 years old when he passed, due to complications brought on by sepsis.

Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon

Scott Hall, better known by his wrestling alias "Razor Ramon" was the quintessential bad guy of the professional wrestling world. He passed away after suffering three simultaneous heart attacks, brought on by complications during hip replacement surgery.

Naomi Judd was a country music legend, as well as a founding member of the Grammy-winning mother/daughter duo — The Judds. In a tragic turn of events, Naomi was found dead after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
