Okay, confession time — I've never stayed at an Airbnb before. Shocking! I know. But here's what you need to understand. I'm more used to staying at hotels. So the idea of an Airbnb still makes me feel uneasy.

Well, as it turns out, the platform has now evolved, and not everybody is happy about it. Some hosts are now becoming quite demanding, and people are getting annoyed with their antics.

Even comedian Caleb Hearon is fed up with Airbnb.

I thought it was pretty chill to stay at an Airbnb. After all, it's like borrowing someone else's apartment, only you get to not worry about chores. But no! That's not the case anymore.

Then, he followed it by saying this about Airbnb hosts.

OMG, what? What's the fun in that? If I wanted to do that on vacation, I would have stayed in my own apartment, haha. No kidding, right? And you're not even saving that much money than staying in a hotel.

Well, this opened a whole new can of worms.

Now, people are chiming in with their own stories about outrageous pricing lists on Airbnb. And I have to say, that was very surprising to me. It's like a thrift store overcharging for stuff that's supposed to be thrifted, no?

Check this out.

Does that sound like a fun beach vacation to you? When I return from any beach trip, there is still sand in my suitcase. So good luck getting it all cleaned up before you take off from this uptight place.

And how do you like this detailed bill here?

They dare to charge $247 in host fees that include a linen fee, parking fee, and a whopping $135 for a cleaning fee. And what the heck is the administrative fee? Is it a fee for them to type this up? Ha, ha!

Did you like that bill?

Well, here's an even better one for you. Their cleaning fee is $248. How did they come up with that? Even if they hired a professional cleaner for three days, this would still come out to roughly $82/day. That's pretty steep, huh?

Here's the best take on Airbnb:

She isn't wrong. Is she? I mean, that's exactly what it is. Somehow people figured out how others can housesit their place, and they're making money off of it. I have to give it to whoever came up with this concept. It's pretty genius.

Why do they even charge you a cleaning fee when they ask you to do this?

Oh, come on! That can't be right. Isn't this pretty ridiculous? I can't believe Airbnb has gotten so bad? I had no idea. I was even going to look for a place for us to stay this summer.

I'm definitely second-guessing myself now.

And as it turns out, I'm not the only one. This woman just booked an Airbnb, and now after reading all these stories, is freaking out. I don't blame her one bit. I would be on pins and needles too.

The funny thing is some people are defending the Airbnb hosts.

They're saying that you should clean up after yourself and not be a baby because you're staying at somebody's private residence. True, but these hosts are already charging you for cleaning, and they still demand that you do it.

That's not right at all.

And how about this here? This is quite a story, eh? I love cats, so I would probably do it, but that's not what this lady is there for, right? Do you know what I mean?

Oh my goodness.

I love this woman's take on it, too. She has a point, no? Originally, it was a way for people to save money, so it was a no-frills kind of stay, but it's definitely turned into something else.

And then there are these issues, too.

This is why I don't trust Airbnb. I understand there are people's reviews, so you can use those to pick a place. But how do you know if they're genuine? I don't know.

I'm very picky about staying anywhere.

So this is one more strike against Airbnb. The place is only as good as the people who run it. And yes, I've stayed at bad hotels, too. I guess it's a gamble no matter what you decide to do.

How about this?

So let me get this straight. This woman wasn't even allowed to have a food delivery person come to her Airbnb. That's rich! Now you have to cook while you're on vacation, too? Um, no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Some say that Airbnb is still cheaper than a hotel.

But that's not always the case. In fact, you can still find great hotel deals if you look hard enough. And they will include some extra amenities such as breakfast, gym or pool for you to use.

Then there's also this:

I've heard about stuff like this happening to people. How can they be allowed to do that? I don't get it. There should be rules in place for the hosts so they can't bail on you at the last minute, no?

I think we all should band together.

If people keep booking these places for ridiculous prices, they'll continue charging it. Or worse, they might even increase them or ask you to walk their dog every day, lol. Who knows how this will end?

So are you fed up with Airbnb's outrageous host rules lately?

Have you ever stayed at one that made you clean, do the dishes, take out the garbage, and all that fun stuff everybody loves to do on vacation? Ha, ha! I definitely wouldn't be a fan of that. If I have to do that, then I might as well stay home.
