In the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die, unless your name happens to be Jon Snow (or in this case, Kit Harington). In that case, you just get banished to The Wall, never to be seen or heard from again — or so we thought.

It has now been confirmed that Kit Harington will be making his triumphant return to Westeros in a Jon Snow sequel series. The news has sent Game of Thrones fans reeling, and the internet is ablaze in a wildfire of speculation over what might be in store for the one true heir to the Iron Throne.

After more than three years since we last received word from the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, it's now been confirmed that breakout star Kit Harington is poised to return to the small screen in a Jon Snow sequel series.

The last time that fans saw Jon Snow, he was being exiled to The Wall to live out his days among the Knight's Watch.

It would appear that Jon's watch is far from ended, as the new sequel series promises to be the potential last word in "A Song of Ice & Fire."

This bodes well for diehard 'Game Of Thrones' fans, many of whom were unhappy with how the original series panned out.

It wasn't just the fans, either. Series stars Peter Dinklage and Emelia Clarke have both made their feelings on the show's lackluster ending known on multiple occasions.

So far, reports pertaining to any storyline or plot direction remain highly speculative.

Multiple outlets have attempted to reach out to Harington for comment, but as of now, he remains as silent as The Stranger. I guess you could say — he knows nothing.

In the final season of 'Game Of Thrones', Jon learns that his true name is actually Aegon Targaryen.

Fans are led to discover that Jon is the trueborn son of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. For those who know their Thrones history, that makes Jon heir to the Iron Throne.

While this is undoubtedly exciting news, the Jon Snow prequel show is far from the only 'Game Of Thrones' spin-off series in the works.

House of the Dragon premieres this August and is set to tell the tale of the Targaryen civil war, more commonly known as "The Dance of the Dragons."

According to "A Song Of Fire And Ice" author, George R.R. Martin — there are at least seven confirmed titles in production.

Seven series for the Seven Kingdoms; a mere coincidence? I think not. The revered author has also revealed that fans can expect to see a mix of animation as well as live-action.

Martin has also confirmed the titles of four additional prequel series that fans may see sooner than later.

There's The Sea Snake, 10,000 Ships, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms or The Hedge Knight, and finally — The Golden Empire.

Martin wrote via blog post that he remains "heavily involved" with all project undertakings.

"What I have seen, I have loved," the author exclaimed. Martin is also quick to point out that while it's likely that not all will see the light of day — he's hopeful that fans will get at least two new prequels.

The author also provided an update on the much-anticipated "Winds Of Winter" novel.

"I made a lot of progress on 'Winds' in 2020, and less in 2021… but 'less' is not 'none,'" he stated. For those who are still counting, it's been more than 10 years since George released the fifth novel of his "ASOIAF" series.

"The world of 'A Song of Ice & Fire' is my number one priority," he bluntly proclaimed.

"And will remain so until the story is told… I am still working on 'Winds of Winter'."

Until that time comes, at least we'll have plenty of exciting prequel series to keep us busy!
