Every man is looking for his better half. That's exactly what Prince William has found in his wife, Kate Middleton. In addition to blessing him with three beautiful children and being by his side during royal engagements, Kate has played a huge role in his budding confidence.

One body language expert even went so far as to say that she's the reason we have a confident future king.

Prince William hasn't always been this confident.

Body language expert Darren Stanton told Marie Claire that he was extremely shy as a kid. "As young children both William and Harry were quite introverted and did not appear that confident," Stanton said.

"In earlier photos of William during public engagements, we see him displaying self-reassurance behaviors and lacking slightly in confidence," he continued.

"William has been seen adopting a certain posture that his brother Prince Harry has become known for—placing the flat of your hand inside your jacket."

He explained that this is a reassuring gesture when you're feeling anxious or uneasy.

"Another tell-tale sign of William’s to show he is uncomfortable is the royal playing with the button on his jackets or touching his cufflinks," he added.

The Duke of Cambridge was also "painfully shy" in high school, according to royal expert and biographer Katie Nicholl.

In her book, Kate: The Future Queen, she shared that this only got worse after the tragic and untimely death of his mother, Princess Diana.

"Painfully shy and acutely aware of his unwanted celebrity, William was known for keeping his head down," she said of his time at Eton College.

"Self-consciously trying to avoid the attention he attracted," she added. "He was still coming to terms with the trauma of losing his mother two years earlier in a tragic car crash in Paris."

Everything changed for William when he met his future bride, Kate Middleton.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got married on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey in London, England. They have three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis of Cambridge.

Kate has always been good for William.

She possesses all the qualities a future Queen should have: she's smart, caring, beautiful, and confident.

Some of this confidence has even rubbed off on her formerly shy husband, according to Darren Stanton.

"Over recent years William has really developed as a senior royal, as an empath and as a communicator," Stanton said in an interview with 'Marie Claire.'

"And part of that is thanks to his marriage to Kate Middleton," he declared.

"Kate has had a lot to do with building William’s confidence, especially during royal engagements and meeting other civil dignitaries," he said.

He added that becoming a father to their three kids has also helped, as it's given him "a great deal of inner peace and tranquility and boosted his confidence in himself."

"We no longer tend to see the jacket gesture so much these days and playing with his cufflinks has become a rare occurrence," Stanton continued.

This suggests that William has become much more comfortable in his own skin and much more comfortable with his future role as King.

Even William's PDA with Kate has changed for the better.

"During exchanges, the couple have been seen intimately placing their hands on one another’s or holding hands when they are simply sat down. This shows that the couple are very much in love and Kate plays a central figure in William’s life." Aww!
