Celebs Who Dated In Ways Nobody Else Could Get Away With

Celebrities, they're just like us. You know, until they do something that quickly reminds you that they really live life differently than we do. Especially when it comes to their dating lives.

I feel like it's safe to say that the weird, unconventional dating practices these celebs have been known for just wouldn't land if they were everyday folk. But of course, they're just like us.

Alison Sweeney and her husband "evaluate" their marriage on their anniversary.

"We kind of give each other a job evaluation, which sounds a little embarrassing! We talk about our three favorite things about the other person and then three things that we could work on," she said.

Steve Harvey thinks that men looking for casual hookups should look for "shallow, unintelligent women."

He said to Good Morning America in 2009, "You want to find someone shallow, really simple, unintelligent, that you can run this by, and they'll sit there and go, 'Wow that sounds great!'" I guess he doesn't think intelligent women are up for hookups?

Jennifer Lawrence once said the secret to a relationship is to "mutually ignore" one another.

Back when the star was dating Nicholas Hoult, she said, "When we’re busy, we agree to mutually ignore each other." Sounds like... a plan?

Jack Nicholson thinks it's perfectly fine to lie to your girlfriend.

He's famously quoted for saying, "You only lie to two people in your life, your girlfriend and the police." I wonder how any of his girlfriends have felt about that.

Kate Moss once googled her husband.

Kate Moss revealed that she first came to know her once-husband, Jamie Hince, by "Googling men," and liking his picture when it showed up. She then got a friend to set them up. I definitely couldn't see this love story having a happy ending if they weren't famous.

Weird Al used to take all his first dates to see 'The Naked Gun' (1988).

Weird Al, who had a cameo in the '80s classic, would wear the same shirt he did on screen, and wait for his dates to figure it out. I'm not gonna lie, that one's pretty good.

Kristen Stewart skipped the shower when in a relationship with Robert Pattinson.

She even said, "I love the way he smells. And him me. Like, he loves to lick under my armpits."

She then went on to say, "I don't get this obsession with washing the smell off. That smell of someone you love. Don't you think that's the whole point?" I... don't know how to feel about this.

Uma Thurman had some wise words about men who cheat.

She once said, "It is better to have a relationship with someone who cheats on you than with someone who does not flush the toilet." Though, I doubt she feels the same way now.

The beginning of Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker's relationship sounded more like a business meeting.

According to the actress, Roddick got his agent to call hers to set up a date, but it took her five months to finally accept. Why is this giving me job interview vibes?

But I guess it worked, since the couple is still together.

Brad Pitt had a rather interesting red flag.

In an interview he gave all the way back in 1999, Pitt said on dating women, "If Madonna's Truth or Dare is her favorite, run. Run." This is a... very specific red flag to have, but okay.

According to Julie Delpy, men need to be reachable, but women don't need to respond to them.

In the full quote, she says, "We need you to be reachable at all times, but we don't always pick up our phones when you call. We realize this seems like a double standard; if you'd like to discuss it further, just leave a message."

Kirk Cameron says that women should "honor their husbands."

He said, "Wives are to honor and respect and follow their husband's lead, not to tell their husband how he ought to be a better husband." I could tell you plenty of reasons why this isn't the best advice.

Leonardo DiCaprio dated someone the same age as one of his movies.

DiCaprio is somewhat infamously known for dating women 25 and younger, and his current girlfriend, Camila Morrone, is no exception. Morrone is 25, having been born the same year Titanic came out (1997). The pair have a 23-year age gap.

Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith also had a pretty uncomfortable age gap.

Uncomfortable age gaps are really nothing new in Hollywood. Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, parents to Dakota Johnson, met when Griffith was just 14. Johnson was 22 at the time. The pair moved in together when Griffith was 15, and they got engaged when she turned 18.

Richard Nixon courted his wife for two years.

Okay, so he was a president and not a movie star, but I think this still counts. Courting somebody for a while isn't weird in itself, but considering the fact that he asked Pat Nixon to marry him on their first date, and continued to drive her to dates when she was seeing other men in between, yeah, it's pretty strange.

Fergie and Justin Timberlake had a pretty inappropriate relationship, too.

Those uncomfortable relationships don't just happen with older men and younger women. Fergie and Justin Timberlake dated back in 1997, when she was 23 and he was 16. The way she described it, "We went to Hawaii together, but we were never serious. He was Mr. Right Now." Huh.

Michael Douglas used to use a really odd pickup line.

When he first met Catherine Zeta-Jones, Douglas said, "I'm going to be the father of your children." She replied with, "You know. I've heard a lot about you. I read a lot about you and I guess it's all true, so good night." Talk about a bad first impression.

According to Boris Kodjoe, keeping a relationship sexy is "part of the deal."

The Austrian actor went on to talk about how gaining weight would cause a partner to start looking elsewhere, saying, "I couldn’t even blame [his wife] if she started looking around. Because I took her off the market, so I have to deliver what the market could possibly deliver for her." Whatever happened to for better or for worse?

Jerry Seinfeld once dated a 17-year-old... when he was 38.

I'm honestly baffled about this one. Somehow, in the early '90s, 38-year-old Jerry Seinfeld ended up meeting 17-year-old Shoshanna Lonstein, and the two dated. For some reason. To make things worse, back then it was treated more like a joke than something deeply disturbing and creepy.

His relationship with Jessica Seinfeld didn't exactly start well, either.

Jessica Seinfeld, who's 17 years her husband's junior, was engaged to be married to Eric Nederlander when they met. She then had an affair with Seinfeld after her wedding. She was divorced within the same year, and married Seinfeld in '99. Bruh.
