There's nothing quite like a good idea. The best kind of good idea, of course, is one that you think of independently and can set into motion immediately.

Alternatively, you can seek inspiration from the good ideas that other people have come up with. There's no judgment here. In fact, feel free to try out any of these good ideas and tell your friend it was your idea all along. We won't tell.

"When you wanna lay down but all you brought is a folding chair."

reddit | IndiaSixty

No matter what brand you buy, those folding camp chairs all kind of suck. This guy's come up with an alternative way to use one, and I think it makes a lot more sense.

"How to fit a pizza in a small oven."

If you have a way to cut a frozen pizza in half, then by all means try out this hack. That said, cutting a frozen pizza is a lot easier said than done.

"Wake up!"

reddit | Disastrous-Spirit543

This life hack is being applied in a "don't miss your alarm" context, but it actually has plenty of alternative uses. The biggest one, obviously, is that you can amplify the tunes you're listening to by simply putting your phone inside a glass.

"This stage has no backdrop."

I'm going to take issue with the caption here, because I disagree. This stage actually does have a backdrop, and that backdrop is nature's majesty. I like it much more than a bunch of dumb banners with the band's logo on them.

"Stick attached to cats preventing them from stepping out."

I've seen this one utilized to keep dogs in an area, but haven't seen it attempted with cats before. Cats are wily beasts, and I wouldn't feel totally confident in this. That said, it seems to be working so far.

"A worthwhile life hack? ... I got you. nana nana nana nana nana nana nana nana BOG ROLL!!"

The digital age consists largely of searching for the appropriate cable and attempting to corral huge mazes of cables into slightly more manageable mazes of cables. This cable organization method is absolutely brilliant.

"This hotel in Paris shows which languages the employees speak."

Sign in hotel lobby shows which languages are spoken by employees
reddit | AROMAXXEM

English speakers may find that staff at virtually any hotel in the world will speak at least some English, but other languages can be hit or miss. This sign gives guests a quick resource so they can know which staffer to speak to.

"How to hang a picture: Use painters tape to mark the distance between two holes. Or put tape over holes, feel them, and punch through with a pencil. Then transfer the tape to the wall to line up & level the wall holes."

Reddit is a good source of dad hacks, and here's a great example. Using this method, you'll never struggle to hang up a picture again.

"The single-use bathrooms at the University of Utah office building now have information about WHAT is in them, rather than signs about WHO can use them."

Bathroom signs show what's in that bathroom (urinal/toilet/sink, etc.)
reddit | GreyAura

When you're out in public and you really, really need a bathroom, you're probably not feeling too picky. All that matters is that you can find a toilet and a sink. This sign cuts away the guesswork.

"My friend that uses scissors to cut pizza."

I think a pizza cutter is a must in any kitchen, but if you don't have one, it can be tricky to cut up your 'za. Put that bread knife away and bust out the scissors. It's way easier.

This makes navigation so much easier.

Augmented reality, or AR, is often used as a gimmick. However, this short video shows that simple AR tech can be a lifesaver when you're trying to navigate an unfamiliar area. It seems incredibly intuitive.

"So we've been wondering why our daughter insists on inserting the short end of the bendy straw into the juice carton. Today, she explained her reasoning."

Practically everyone has knocked back a juice box or two in their time, but I'm willing to bet that most people haven't tried out this genius approach.

"This florist’s advertising approach."

reddit | thriftgirl82

This is a decent way to advertise the business, as flowers are a quick way to apologize to your mate. They're not a total fix-all, though. If you mess up too many times, it might be time for therapy rather than flowers.

"The construction guy near my house as a solar powered fan helmet to stay cool."

Even small solar panels can provide power to appropriately-sized devices, and this all-in-one helmet/fan/solar panel looks like it's perfectly designed to do its job. Nicely done.

"I designed and printed a chess set to roll up."

The slow, contemplative nature of chess lends itself well to playing outdoors. This custom-made roll-up chess board is made with portability in mind, as it's the perfect size and shape to carry under your arm.

"My wristband the bar gave for admission has a DUI lawyer and bail bond number on it."

Ideally, no one would ever drive after drinking at a bar, but we don't live in an ideal world. This pragmatic wristband gives offenders a couple of options if they do drink and drive.

"My dryer door opens from the side OR the top."

reddit | pm_me_your_taintt

My dryer door barely even opens the one way it was designed to open, and this dryer door apparently can open in every possible way. Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair.

"This wildlife petting guide in Alaska…"

reddit | OldFatBubba

They could have saved some space by just writing, "Never, ever touch wildlife, ever," but that would have been less fun. This helpful sign communicates the same message in a considerably more whimsical way.

"This bathroom lock also works as an accessory tray."

When you're using a public washroom, you'll often find yourself with no place to put your stuff. This stall has a built-in option so you can place your phone or hang your purse.

"The snacklebox, perfect for a day trip."

reddit | D1ckRepellent

Sure, you could bring all of these items to the beach individually, but that wouldn't be nearly as fun. I love the idea of cheese and crackers, deli meat, pickles, and gummy bears (!) all in the same box.
