The 2022 Met Gala was one for the record books (but isn't it always for a Kardashian). Everyone in attendance absolutely stunned and sought to push the bounds of fashion to new heights — particularly, Kim Kardashian.

As many are already aware, Kim chose to wear a stunning gold dress that was once owned by Marilyn Monroe. However, it turns out that the crash diet Kim used to be able to fit into the dress has caused some health issues.

Anyone who's anyone understands that the Met Gala is one of the most coveted social events of the season. With individual tickets starting at $35,000 and tables going for in-between $275,000 to $300,000, it's not hard to understand why.

You never know what you might see or who you may run into.

This year, the celebrity who flat-out stole the show was reality TV queen, Kim Kardashian.

Sporting a slicked-back bleach blonde hairdo, Kim donned a form-fitting gold diamond-bedazzled evening dress that was once owned by the true American idol, Marilyn Monroe.

The dress is so iconic, that it holds a Guinness World Record.

Kim's dress was the exact same one that Marilyn wore when she sang "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" for JFK. The dress was on loan from Ripley's Museum, which purchased the dress at auction for $4.8 million.

There was only one problem — the dress didn't fit when Kim initially went to try it on.

In order for Kim to be able to fit into Marilyn's dress, The Kardashians star had to drop a staggering 16 lbs in only three weeks.

"I looked at it like a role and I really wanted to wear this dress," Kim said during an appearance on 'TODAY'.

"It was really important to me," Kim explained. Since then, Kim hasn't just managed to keep the weight off — she's actually losing even more.

Since the Met Gala, Kim has lost an additional 5 lbs.

"Since then, afterwards[sic], I continued to eat really healthy. I'm down 21 lbs, now. I'm not trying to lose any more weight, but I have more energy than ever," Kim revealed.

However, that added energy and weight loss came with a hefty cost.

Kim had to completely revamp her diet for the Met Gala. Normally, she eats strictly plant-based but began eating meat again under the advisement of her doctors.

Almost immediately after she began eating meat, things took a turn for the worse.

"Psoriasis broke out over my body," Kim explained in a recent interview with Allure, "and I got psoriatic arthritis so I couldn’t really move my hands."

"It was really painful, and I had to go to a rheumatologist who put me on a steroid," Kim said.

The SKIMS founder didn't understand why her body was reacting in this manner. "I was freaking out," she admitted. "I cut out the meat again, and it’s calmed down."

This isn't the first time that Kim has brought her psoriasis to light.

Between 2005 to 2006, Kim got her first psoriasis flare-up. At the time, she was battling a common cold and since psoriasis is an auto-immune deficiency, her illness triggered it.

Kim was already facing heavy backlash for her extreme weight loss, and the news of her health problems further compounds that criticism.

However, Kim remains steadfast and stands by her decision to lose the weight, reiterating that it was done in the safest, healthiest way imaginable.

"If I was starving and doing it really unhealthy, I would say that, of course, that’s not a good message," Kim said.

"But I had a nutritionist, I had a trainer. I have never drunk more water in my life."

Kim then saw fit to call out what she feels is a gross double-standard when it comes to the treatment of women's bodies.

"I don’t see the criticism for other people when they lost weight for roles," Kim argued. "They are geniuses for their craft."

You've got to admit, Kim makes a good point.

Nobody batted an eye when Christian Bale dropped 60 lbs for his role in The Machinist, so why are we reacting so harshly to Kim? The hypocrisy is almost too much to bear.
