Kim Kardashian Is Being Called 'Vile' After She Claims Her Beauty Standards Are 'Attainable'

Kim Kardashian is facing backlash online (again) after making some pretty outrageous claims. While it's no secret the reality TV star has allegedly undergone some serious plastic surgery, she is standing by the idea that her global impact on beauty standards is something that is "attainable" for the average woman.

I mean, I'm sure I don't have to tell you why that's a wildly irresponsible statement for the Kardashians star to make, but we're going to dive into it.

When it comes to pop culture influence, there's no denying the prominent role the Kardashian / Jenner ladies have played in it.

Since their E! reality series Keeping up with the Kardashians aired back in 2007, Kim has been in the spotlight and looked to as a guide for the latest fashion and beauty trends for nearly the same amount of time.

Kim and her sisters Khloé, Kourtney, Kylie, and Kendall have nearly 1 BILLION Instagram followers combined.

To deny their influence on today's beauty standards is just irresponsible and incorrect. However, this hasn't stopped this reality TV family from doing so in the past.

During the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" reunion, the ladies were asked by host Andy Cohen if they felt they perpetuated unrealistic body standards.

"No, I don't," Kim said at the time, "Because I think we get up, we do the work. We work out."

Sister Kendall chimed in, adding: "We all really enjoy taking care of ourselves and being healthy, so I think if anything, the only thing we're really trying to represent is just being the most healthy version of yourself."

Despite being called out countless times for their photoshopping and alleged cosmetic procedures, Kim is doubling down on her stance in a new interview with Allure.

When asked if the 41-year-old felt guilt or responsibility for today's high-pressure beauty standards on women, Kim replied that she didn't.

“If I’m doing it, it’s attainable,” Kim insisted. “There are so many different beauty standards — whether it’s Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, Marilyn Monroe. When I was a teenager, [the look] was just blonde waifs."

"My mentality was never like, you see them on TV or in magazines and pick who you want to be. It was always: Be yourself, find beauty in everything."

Look, I totally agree with that sentiment, but to completely deny your responsibility for the Instagram model world we live in today seems... irresponsible — no?

As you can imagine, this attitude has not gone over well on social media.

"You have wealth privilege. Many people including myself don’t. Tone deaf and out of touch," tweeted one angry user.

“'If I’m doing it, it’s attainable.' More like, if I have more money than God and have trainers and plastic surgeons at my beck and call, then it’s attainable," echoed another.

Others were quick to point out that Kim herself cannot even live up to her "perfect" social media presence.

There's a reason she and her sisters continue to get called out for their photoshop fails.

If Kim really doesn't realize the magnitude of her and her family's influence on social media, that's incredibly dangerous and irrresponsible.
