Chrissy Teigen Celebrates One Year Of Sobriety: 'I Feel Really Good'

As we know, Chrissy Teigen's online life is nothing short of dramatic. For years, the supermodel has been dealing with trolls and people mom-shaming her for nearly everything she does.

Last year, a series of unearthed tweets put Chrissy in the hot seat as she was forced to confront problematic things she had said in her past. After a lot of apologizing, self-discovery, and healing, Chrissy is opening up with fans again about her decision to quit drinking, and how she's feeling on her first sobriety anniversary.

In June 2021, Chrissy Teigen apologized after being accused of cyberbullying several stars on social media back in the early 2010s.

"When I first started using social media, I had so much fun with it. I made jokes, random observations. Think of all the engineers, working day and night to develop this amazing new platform and technology, connecting people all over the world to learn, create, and find kindred spirits. And I used it to snark at some celebrities," she explained at the time.

"In reality, I was insecure, immature and in a world where I thought I needed to impress strangers to be accepted. If there was a pop culture pile-on."

"The truth is, I’m no longer the person who wrote those horrible things. I grew up, got therapy, got married, had kids, got more therapy, experienced loss and pain, got more therapy and experienced more life. AND GOT MORE THERAPY."

"We are all more than our worst moments," she added. "I won’t ask for your forgiveness, only your patience and tolerance. I ask that you allow me, as I promise to allow you, to own past mistakes and be given the opportunity to seek self-improvement and change."

A month after that post, Chrissy stopped drinking and vowed to focus on her mental and physical health.

Now, the supermodel and mom is celebrating her first sobriety anniversary.

Sharing a video of her family on vacation, Chrissy wrote: "not a drop of alcohol in 365 days! I miss feeling loopy and carefree sometimes, but to be honest toward the end, it didn’t give that fun feeling anymore anyhow. I drank to end crazy anxiety that later mostly went away when I - get this - quit drinking! sigh."

"anyhow I feel really good," she continued.

"sometimes I get really frustrated looking back on days I should remember way better than I do because of alcohol. Like when I drank cafe patron and fell asleep while an Outback Steakhouse chef taught me (my friends) how to make a bloomin onion at my house. I wish I was awake for that. Wish I remembered really any awards show lol."

"There are pictures from huge moments in life where my eyes just look…gone. Some are from real work shoots, some just beach days with the family."

"While I honestly STILL don’t know if I’ll never have a drink again, I do know I never want to be that way again. And for now, none is best. I’ll let the bad dreams come up and try to sort them out in therapy, without booze."

In true Chrissy fashion, the 36-year-old concluded her post by asking Outback Steak House for a redo.

The comment section soon became flooded with support, including a sweet message from the model's husband, John Legend.

"Soooooo proud of you, my strong beautiful wife!" he wrote.

Way to go, Chrissy!
