The Kardashian/Jenner family is among the richest in the world, with each member raking in millions every year and continuing to reign supreme in the world of social media and reality TV.

Sometimes, we get a very specific glimpse at their lives that prove just how absurdly different it is from the lives of common people, so much so that even mundane activities feel strange coming from them.

Fans believe Kylie Jenner attempted an odd form of damage control yesterday.

The millionaire social media star posted a video to her TikTok account wherein she took her daughter, Stormi, and her two nieces, Chicago and True, to Target, the girls cheering as they sit in a cart.

The girls seem elated about the trip.

After cracking a joke asking if they want to buy bowls, Kylie brings the three to the toy aisle. They spend a moment picking out their gifts, then are seen loading up the checkout with their choices.

How is this damage control, though?

Well, a few days prior, Kylie posted a photo to her Instagram of her and Travis Scott embracing in front of two private jets, captioning the image, "[You] wanna take mine or yours?"

People weren't happy about the post.

She faced a lot of backlash for the pic, a gratuitous display of absurd wealth and the environmentally damaging habits of the ultra-rich.

She also used that jet last week to take a 17-minute flight from Camarillo to Van Nuys, both in California, a trip that would only take 45 minutes by car.

So, people are speculating the Target trip was meant to 'deflect' from her jet use.

You know, a way to show that the Jenner family is just like everyone else, they even shop at Target like the common folk!

People quickly noticed something seemed weird about the video, though.

As one comment asked, "Did they close the store for y’all?"

There was no one else in the store, not even the sounds of other shoppers in the background, leading people to believe that they rented out the store so they could privately shop for toys.

So, was it just a publicity stunt?

No one can say for sure whether it was or wasn't, but if it was, I wouldn't really call it a successful one seeing as the TikTok comments were openly accusing Kylie of "trying to cosplay as middle class."

At least the girls had fun, and a new discussion was sparked about bad habits the 1% get to keep up while the rest of the world takes the blame.
