Many different people have different ways they want to parent their children. Some people are very strict while others are a bit more lenient with their children. Some parents are very careful and cautious when they are out in public, wanting to ensure their kids stay close by at all times.

However, some parents have methods that many disagree with.

When you are a parent, going out with your kids can be a hassle.

Especially when you have more than one child, bringing them anywhere can be a struggle because they may not behave and they also may run off.

It's every parent's worst nightmare to lose sight of their kids.

Being in big crowds or in public, there are so many dangers that can happen. We always want to keep our kids as safe as possible, by any means necessary.

Jordan Driskell knows this fear all too well.

Driskell shares five children with his wife, Brianna. However, they aren't five children of all different ages who can look out for one another. Driskell has quints—five children all born together at the same time.

As you can imagine, any parent would struggle going out with five children of the same age at the same time.

Recently, Driskell shared a video of how the dad gets it done, even when his wife isn't joining them. He has a simple way that he keeps all his children with him, safe and sound.

He uses a leash.

In a video shared on Instagram, the dad of five showcased that his kids have harness leashes that attach to one grip he can use to "walk with them." This way, Driskell is sure he won't lose track of any child.

People online had mixed feelings about the video.

"Wtf are you using a [expletive] leash for human beings? It’s especially disgusting when you see parents doing it to one child. Can’t you just train your children well? Explain to them why it’s dangerous to run away," shared one person on the Instagram video.

Others said that the father was treating his kids like "pets" or "dogs."

Many comments said that the dad was embarrassing his children and treating them like dogs and pets. Some said that the kids were going to grow up with "trauma" and even have phobias.

Some people said they used to think they were bad, but changed.

"I used to think these were terrible and humiliating for the child and the parent should just have control of their child. Then I grew up," another person commented on the post.

Some people backed the dad up on the post.

"Anyone who says anything negative, doesn't have any experience with your situation. Imagine 1 against 5 hyperactive kids. Do whatever you have to do to keep them safe. People will always talk regardless of what you do," said one Instagram user.

And, parents even shared why they use leashes, too.

"I used child leashes with my singletons. Ever had a toddler run out the door of a doctor office and into the parking lot while you’re paying and 9 months pregnant? I bought a leash that day," one mom wrote.

The bottom line is: it's all about safety.

"It’s so useful, I was a leash kid because I ran off. Would you rather have your kids run away from you in a crowded place or get separated, or have them on a harness," another commented.
