'90210' Star Denise Dowse In Coma Fighting Meningitis

Actress Denise Dowse is currently in a coma due to meningitis, according to an Instagram post made by her sister.

Denise is best known for portraying Mrs. Yvonne Teasley on Beverly Hills, 90210, as well as Judge Rebecca Damnsen on The Guardian, Dr. Pine on Insecure, and many other TV and film appearances like Pleasantville, Ray, and Requiem For A Dream.

Denise's sister, Tracey, shared the sad news in an Instagram post.

"Hello Family and Friends," she wrote. "As many of you have seen, my posts have been positive and up lifting. I am trying to keep my spirits up and support those who need it. As many of you know I am a private person. So this is hard for me."

"I am requesting support and prayers be offered me and my sister," she shared.

"She is currently in the hospital in a coma brought on by a virulent form of meningitis. Her doctors do not know when she will come out of the coma as it was not medically induced."

Tracey continued.

"She is a vibrant actor and director that should have many years ahead of her. Thoughts, prayers and support are greatly appreciated," she finished.

The comments section has been flooded with messages of love and support from friends and fans of the actress. "Sending love and prayers! May God’s healing power touch Ms. Denise. She had encouraged me throughout the years, even before I moved to LA. Her support and belief in me I will never forget. I am trusting for a a healthy and whole recovery," one fan wrote.

"Sending strong prayers your dear sister Denise, who is also an incredible artist, who has inspired me by her incredible work on stage," added another.

"Her love of the work emanates through her pours.. and such a dear person. I hope you and Denise can feel all the love, prayers and support that are surrounding you! Peace," they finished.
