Chandravati, 70-year-old, from Rajasthan in India, successfully gave birth to a baby who weighed 7 pounds and 7 ounces. Chandravati is now one of the oldest women in the world to have a baby.
Chandravati was trying IVF treatment for years with her husband. The two have been married for 54 years and wanted to have a child together. They had been trying for decades.
All these years later, the couple was unsuccessful until they turned to IVF treatment. Successfully, Chandravati was able to deliver her child and was so touched, that she had tears in her eyes, doctors said.
In 2019, a 74-year-old woman, Mangayamma Yaramati, gave birth to twins in India after she also underwent IVF treatment after years of trying to conceive with her husband. In their culture, not having children was frowned upon.
Yaramati and her husband, 82-year-old, Sitarama Rajarao, told BBC that in their village, they were "stigmatized" for not having any children and were looked at strangely because they were childless.
For many mothers who struggle with having children, IVF has become a way for them to do so in a healthy and successful manner.

Doctors share that for women of their age, the egg is fertilized outside of the body and then put inside of their body to implant in their body and grow.

Obviously, it's wonderful when we see a mother's dream of having children and becoming a mother comes true. No matter the age, motherhood is such a magical journey!
