Musician Michelle Branch was arrested for alleged domestic assault, TMZ reports.

Known for her hit songs like "Everywhere," "All You Wanted," "Are You Happy Now?", and "Breathe," Michelle Branch, 39, has been arrested following the split from her husband of three years, Patrick Carney, drummer of the band The Black Keys, with whom she shares two children.

On Wednesday night, Branch made a since-deleted tweet accusing Carney of cheating.

“Just found out my husband cheated on me with his manager Haley McDonald from Full Stop Management while I was home with our 6 month old daughter," Michelle's tweet read.

Michelle then released a statement on the split to People.

"To say that I am totally devastated doesn't even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family," she said in the statement.

"The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward," she said. "With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness." Branch and Carney share two children, aged 4 and six months old.

TMZ is now reporting that Branch was arrested for domestic assault.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, "on Thursday at around 2 AM police were called to their home for a possible domestic disturbance. Michelle admitted she had slapped Patrick in the face 'one to two times.'"

Carney did not have any visible injuries, according to the documents.

TMZ reports that Branch was taken into custody, with a bail set at $1000.

Our thoughts are with the former couple's friends, family, and children during this time.
