Celebs Who We Never Realized Were Teen Moms

There are plenty of celebs out there who have kids that we might not know about. Even fewer, though, are the celebs who just so happened to be teen moms.

In this list, we'll talk about celebrity moms who had their first children before the age of 20, which would make them teen parents.

Anna Nicole Smith.

Smith met and married Billy Wayne Smith when she was 17, giving birth to Daniel Wayne Smith at 18. She would later go on to have a second child, a daughter named Dannielynn.

Whoopi Goldberg.

Goldberg had her first and only child, Alexandra Martin, in 1973. She was just 18 at the time. She is both a grandparent and a great-grandparent, having welcomed her first great-grandchild to the world in 2014, at age 58.

Roseanne Barr.

In 1970, Barr gave birth to a daughter at age 17. She gave the child up for adoption, but the two were reunited later in life. She went on to have four other children with ex-husbands Bill Pentland and Ben Thomas.

Shirley Temple.

Temple was married in 1945 to John Agar. She was just 17 at the time. She welcomed her daughter Linda Susan in 1948, when she was still 19. She divorced Agar, and went on to remarry and have two more children.

Naomi Judd.

The country singer gave birth to her first child, Wynonna Judd (born Christina Ciminella) in 1964, at age 18. She went on to have a second daughter, actress Ashley Judd. Naomi unfortunately passed earlier this year.

Solange Knowles.

Solange married Daniel Smith in 2004. She was just 17, and he was 19 at the time. They welcomed their son, Daniel Jr., that same year, after Solange had turned 18. The couple split in 2007.

Niki Taylor.

Taylor eloped with Matt Martinez, a former linebacker for the Miami Hooters, in 1994, having just graduated from high school the year before. She gave birth to twins Jake and Hunter later that year, at age 19. She also has two kids with Burney Lamar, a former NASCAR driver.

Maya Angelou.

Angelou gave birth to her one and only child, Guy Johnson, in 1945. She was just 17 at the time.

Johnson went on to become a poet and writer in his own right. He unfortunately passed earlier this year at age 77.

Jamie Lynn Spears

Sister of Britney Spears and star of the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 at the time, Spears's teen pregnancy was huge news in 2007 and 2008. She gave birth to her fist daughter, Maddie, in 2008. Spears later married Jamie Watson and gave birth to a second daughter in 2018.

Aretha Franklin.

Franklin was a mother of four, having her first two sons at very young ages. Her first son was born in 1955, when Franklin was still 12, and she had a second son at 15.

Loretta Lynn.

Loretta Lynn and Oliver Lynn married in 1948. She was 15 and he was 21. They had six children together; the first three were born before Loretta turned 20. Her two eldest children have since passed.

Suzanne Somers.

Somers married Bruce Somers at age 19, in 1965. They had a son together later that year, named Bruce Jr.. Their marriage only lasted a few years after that, and the two split in 1968.

Fantasia Barrino.

Before appearing on American Idol and going on to become a Grammy-winning artist and Broadway performer, Fantasia had a child at 16 with an ex-boyfriend named Brandel Shouse. She's since had a second child, but hasn't announced who the father is.

Keisha Castle-Hughes.

The New Zealand actress gave birth to her first child in 2007, at age 16. She and then-partner Bradley Hull split in 2010 after being together for seven years. She married Donny Grahamer in 2021, and the two had a daughter together that year.

Sofia Vergara.

Vergara married her high school sweetheart at age 18, and had her son, Manolo, in 1991. She was just 19 when he was born. She and her then-husband split not long after, and she's currently married to Joe Manganiello.

Asia Nitollano.

Nitollano, best known for winning the reality show Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll, had a daughter when she was just 18 years old. Though she was briefly a member of The Pussycat Dolls, she left to pursue a solo career.
