One of the many ways in which COVID-19 affected us was to put an indefinite halt to all pending feature film projects. However, over the course of the last year, the world has slowly managed to get caught up.

With the return of feature films comes the promise of a new and exciting decade of filmmaking. So in order to highlight some of the greats that have come so far, here are 15 amazing details from some truly iconic 2020s films.

The first appearance of Doctor Octopus in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' is an homage to the comics.

If you look closely at the license plate on the car that Doc Ock hurls at Peter, it reads 63A5M3. This is an allusion to "The Amazing Spider-Man" issue #3, 1963 — which was the first appearance of the character.

Ricky "Jupe" Park's jacket in 'Nope' is a clever piece of foreshadowing.

The flowers on the back of Ricky's jacket are meant to foreshadow the final form the UFO (aka Jean Jacket) takes in the film. Furthermore, his cowboy hat is a bonus Easter Egg that resembles Jean Jacket sucking him up.

Riz Ahmed was wearing auditory blockers for certain scenes in 'Sound Of Metal'.

The auditory blockers were designed to emit white noise. "I couldn’t hear anything, including the sound of my own voice," Ahmed explained during an interview with USA Today.

What was up with Thufir Hawat's scary white eyes in 'Dune'?

Although never properly explained in the film, Thufir is a Mentat — a highly intelligent human being whose mind is designed to hold complex computations, in lieu of thinking AI computers which had been outlawed for generations.

Andrew Garfield really is singing in 'Tick, Tick...Boom!'.

Andrew dedicated an entire year of his life to learning how to sing in order to properly encapsulate the essence of Jonathan Larson. On top of that, he also learned how to play the piano.

Director Joel Coen opted to make all of the set pieces, costumes, and props that are seen in the film in black and white. The only exceptions to this were the dresses worn by Frances McDormand.

During this scene, we see one of the Jerrys introduce soul number 108,210,121,415. According to statistics courtesy of the Population Reference Bureau, this is estimated to be the exact number of people who have ever lived on earth.

Robert Pattinson's accent in 'The Devil All The Time' is all his own.

Pattinson was the only actor who outright refused to work with a dialect coach in order to craft his southern accent. Therefore, his accent has no true origin — thus making his character even more ominous.

You may have missed an important billboard in 'Zack Snyder's Justice League'.

Right after Bruce Wayne convinces Barry Allen to join his cause, the two speed past a billboard for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This was included as a memorial for Zack Snyder's daughter, who took her own life at the age of 20.

Benedict Cumberbatch fully emersed himself in the life of a cowboy for 'The Power Of The Dog'.

Benedict wanted to look and smell the part of Phil Burbank. In order to get a better sense of the character, Cumberbatch didn't shower for the first full week of shooting.

Neil is the one who rescues The Protagonist at the beginning of 'Tenet'.

Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed the red string hanging from Neil's bag at the end of the film, but very few, if any, noticed that the character who saves The Protagonist in the beginning also had a red string dangling from his bag.

Cecilia's name in 'The Invisible Man' reveals a lot.

Cecilia's nickname in The Invisible Man is Cee, pronounced like "see." If that wasn't suggestive enough, the name Cecilia is derived from the Latin word "caecus" — which means blind.

The beer in 'Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers' is a clever Easter Egg that points to yet another Andy Samberg movie.

The brand of beer that Chip and Dale are drinking is called Akupara. This type of beer is also featured in Andy Samberg's Palm Springs.

A very familiar truck can be spotted during this scene in 'Turning Red'.

If you look to the right side of the screen, you'll notice a beat-up-looking yellow truck. This is none other than the Pizza Planet truck, first seen in the original Toy Story film.

There's a subtle allusion to Bane in 'The Batman'.

Toward the end of the film, when Batman is up on the catwalk, he injects himself with a strange green substance that not only gives him super strength but fills him with venomous rage. This substance was Venom, which is the chemical concoction that fuels Bane.
