It's now been two weeks since the world received the news that Queen Elizabeth II passed away. Though everyone was shocked, there were plans that had to be carried out and ceremonies that had to be held, all of which we got to watch unfold.
Now, with all those events done, her final resting place has been revealed to the public for the first time.
Buckingham Palace announced this past Saturday that her final resting place has a new ledger stone located at the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
It features brass letter inlays that match the previous ledger stone that was installed there.
Not only is Queen Elizabeth II's name inlaid in the stone, but so is that of her husband, Prince Philip, and her parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
Millions of people in the UK alone tuned in to watch the ceremony before she was finally laid to rest following her tour around the nation so people could mourn.
"That moment where the Queen's coffin was lowered down into the royal vault was very, very powerful. Very emotional," royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET.
"[...] the Queen had this all worked out, because in that same royal vault, currently lying, is the Duke of Edinburgh's coffin, and they will both be interned together in this private ceremony, which won't be televised, which will only be for immediate family."
"And it was her wish, that he waited for her in the royal vault," Nicholl continued, "[...] she wanted that final journey to be made with Phillip by her side."
