We've seen no shortage of bad tattoos shared online, but in almost every case, the tattoo is bad because of its quality. There's another category of bad tattoos out there, though: the ones that are executed well by the artist, but depict something that's in terrible taste.

If you read the headline to this story, you already know that we're going to be talking about an extremely questionable tattoo that falls into the latter category.

Tattoos are a great form of self expression.

Most people who get inked choose to get words or images that carry personal significance tattooed onto their body. It's a permanent, expensive process, so it makes sense that people think long and hard about what to get.

This woman's tattoo is, uh, really something.

Britnee Chamberlain has made her Instagram private for understandable reasons. But up until quite recently, her account showed off her Jeffrey Dahmer tattoo for all to see. It's on her lower right leg.

Jeffrey Dahmer?

Yes, serial killer / cannibal / necrophiliac Jeffrey Dahmer. Dahmer's crimes are so horrific that they stand out against other serial killers. It doesn't seem like there's anything redeemable about Jeffrey Dahmer or his story, much less anything that's worth getting a tattoo for.

Here's a better look at Britnee's tat.

It has Dahmer's catchphrase, "If you can't beat 'em, eat 'em" on it. This might be a funny thing to say if Dahmer didn't literally beat and then eat his victims. As things stand, it seems like a questionable choice to say the least.

"I can say that my favorite piece of the sleeve is the quote by Jeffrey Dahmer," she told the Daily Star. "Now, that's not to say that I envision it in the way he did. But metaphorically speaking, not feeling defeated by others and pursuing nonetheless, no matter the difficulty for you."

Uh, sure.

Let's just take a moment to unpack that quote. It's all well and good to put something inspirational on a tattoo, but a message about not giving up and working hard hits a little bit different when it was delivered by someone who killed a bunch of people.

She doesn't condone Dahmer, apparently.

"I don't condone the hostile crimes of serial killers by any means. I am simply intrigued as to why they do it," Britnee said.

"There are so many contributing factors such as socio-environmental, biological and psychological aspects that encourage or result in a criminal acting out in the way they do," she added, coming off like someone who has a weird fixation on serial killers.

We may have buried the lede.

Britnee's Dahmer tattoo actually sits right below another questionable tattoo: one of another serial killer, Ted Bundy. She says that she really likes this ink as well, but the Dahmer piece is her favorite.

The new Netflix series has brought some attention to her questionable tattoos.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer story is trending on Netflix, showing a new audience just how horrifying Dahmer's crimes were. This probably explains why Britnee and her tattoo has been in the news lately.

On one hand, it's up to each individual person what they might want to do with their skin art. On the other, some things feel like they stretch the boundaries of good taste. Let us know what you think of this story in the comments.
