TikTok user Ashley Estrada shared the scary reality she experienced when she discovered an AirTag that was attached to her car without her knowledge at all.
In the video, Estrada said she was just driving around with her cousin's girlfriend.

Apparently, her cousin's girlfriend got a notification that appeared on her Apple iPhone that said "AirTag detected near you.” Apple's latest feature alerts users when an Apple device has been moving with them for a long period of time.
The alert also allows you to play a sound from the device.

Estrada and her cousin's girlfriend decided to play the sound from the AirTag to see just where it was. They discovered the AirTag had been placed behind Estrada's license plate.
They were able to see how long the AirTag had been tracking them, too.

"When I looked, it pretty much showed us every single location we had been to. It’s super, super scary," she said in the TikTok video.
Both women called the police, but they did not do anything for them.

Although the tracker did not belong to them and they were being "tracked" and followed, police told the two women that it was not a life-threatening situation so there was not much they could do to help.

Many suggested that Estrada and her cousin's girlfriend give the serial number of the AirTag to either the police or to Apple to track down the original owner and who purchased it.
However, many just pointed out that Apple's new features can save a life.
Although many argued in the comments over the AirTag situation, in the end, many agreed that Apple's new feature is a great one for this reason alone—it can truly save your life if it notifies you of something like this.
