Britney Spears is owning up to a mistake from her past. In a new social media post, the 40-year-old is once again apologizing to former Zoey 101 star Alexa Nikolas after yelling at her years ago while on set with her younger sister, Jamie Lynn.

While it's no secret that Britney has h››ad a very traumatizing past few decades, it's clear the singer is eager to move forward with love and light.

I want to take you back to a simpler time. A time when smartphones were just phones with calculators and social media was MySpace.

You'd come home from a long day at school and relax by watching classic tween TV shows like iCarly and Zoey 101.

In case you didn't know, "Zoey 101" was the Nickelodeon show that starred Britney Spears' younger sister, Jamie Lynn.

The show was a mega-hit and fans (me) were devastated when it was canceled after 16-year-old Zoey announced she was pregnant.

Recently, one of Jamie's co-stars Alexa Nikolas opened up about her time on the hit series and recalled when Britney yelled at her on set.

While chatting on Christy Carlson Romano's podcast, the 30-year-old recalled: "It wasn't OK because I was a 12, 13-year-old. But in retrospect, knowing the dynamic that was in place for her, I think, of course, that's what ended up happening."

"And I think, like, oh my God, poor Britney. She is in a horrible situation there." Alexa went on to add that Britney is an "amazing person" who has apologized for the incident.

Now, Britney is speaking out and apologizing again while giving more context to the situation.

"It broke my heart to see your interview about your experience in the business," Britney wrote in a statement shared on Twitter.

Although Brit did not mention the Zoey 101 alum by name, it appears the apology was directed at her.

"I know it's 15 years later what you are sharing but trust me…I know it still matters," she explained.

"Although I have apologized to you personally just by 'instinct' my heart at the time didn’t know how incredibly good my family was with the ACTING LANGUAGE!!!"

Brit went on to give a bit of back story to fans, explaining that she was pregnant with her and Kevin Federline's son, Jayden, at the time of the incident.

She recalled showing up to the Zoey 101 set with cupcakes and being greeted by her younger sister and star of the Nickelodeon show, Jamie Lynn.

"My sister was literally like my daughter growing up…so I apologize for my ignorance for yelling at you when I obviously had no idea what was really going on!!!"

Britney added that their mom Lynn "should have immediately stepped in and took over the situation."

Alexa replied to Britney and thanked her for her continued kindness.

"This type of kindness right now is making me melt," she wrote on Twitter. "You deserve the best in this world. You are my biggest inspiration and honestly always have been."
