Being a single mother can be incredibly challenging. All single mothers will attest to the fact that having to be two parents in one can be draining. However, nothing is harder than when our children experience the true feelings of not having a father around all of the time. There are many things that dads are invited to, celebrated for, or even mentioned that can leave a void in our kid's hearts.

During school events, there are many times when dads are honored, mentioned, and invited. This can be hard for those kids who do not have a dad in their lives on an everyday basis. The single mother noticed this, and instead of allowing her son to feel singled out, not included, or even sad, she decided to take on the role she always has—as both his mother and his father.
