Gwyneth Paltrow Talks 'Conscious Uncoupling' As Reason For Staying Friends With Exes

Gwyneth continued, "I really believe in conscious uncoupling. When you spend meaningful time with someone, it’s nice to have it morph into friendship. I don’t want to have bad blood with anyone, ever (if I can help it).”

Paltrow made the term popular back in 2014 when she split from ex-husband and Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin. The two married in 2003 and continue to co-parent their two children amicably. Together, they are raising Apple and Moses.

Gwyneth and Chris had announced their split a little under a decade ago.

“It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate,” Paltrow said in a statement. “We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate."

Noting that Chris is the father to her children, the blonde added,

"We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time," also sharing, "We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.”

Gwyneth has been linked to a string of famous men, not limited to a rumored fling with James Purefoy, a Bryan Adams hookup, one year with Luke Wilson, plus three years with actor Ben Affleck. She and the husband to JLo were together from 1997 to 2000. Meanwhile, her most famous relationship was from 1994 to 1997 with Brad Pitt, ex to both Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.
