Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Rely on Each Other During Difficult Time

Though Halyna's husband, Matthew Hutchins, originally said in October 2022 that he wasn't interested in pursuing Baldwin for the accident, on January 19 of the present year, the New Mexico district attorney, Mary Carmack-Altwies, stated that the actor will be facing charges and could face at least 18-months in prison.

Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is facing the same charges, as she was responsible for the gun Baldwin shot. "He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win," said Luke Nikas, Alec Baldwin's attorney.

Baldwin's attorney plans to fight the sentence, he also stated, "This decision distorts Halyna Hutchins' tragic death and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice," while Carmack-Altwies is set on her settlement as Baldwin did pull the trigger that resulted in Halyna's death; she added that he doesn't get a free pass for being an actor and he's not above the law.

At the same time, Dave Halls, the film's assistant director, pleaded guilty to negligent use of a deadly weapon and will be suspended along with six months of probation. His attorney stated that this was the best outcome Halls could receive.

A source close to the Baldwin family shared with People magazine that he and his wife, Hilaria, are devastated by the charges. Still, his attorney is optimistic he will win the case. The source stated that Hilaria has been very supportive and that the couple leans on each other during these challenging times.

The source added, "They were prepared for all outcomes, but nothing can quite prepare you for this." They also said Hilaria's been Alec's rock during the whole process, and they've been doing their best to stay strong for their seven kids.

After the charges were announced, Baldwin was spotted in Manhattan trying to cover his face while he got off a black SUV. There's still a lot left in the case, and it is still unclear how or why the gun was loaded or even how a live bullet got on set.

Baldwin hasn't spoken about the charges, but he liked an Instagram post made by his fellow actor, Mickey Rourke, where he said Baldwin shouldn't be facing any type of charges over Halina's tragic accidental death. He highlighted that the actor was not responsible for the gun.

As for the movie, the production is set to continue in January 2023, with Halina's husband as executive producer, along with Joel Souza as the director and Baldwin remaining in the lead role, as he stated in October 2022; however, there will be a ban for the use of weapons.
