Pamela Anderson Is Being Called 'Racist' After Wearing Native American Headdress And Lingerie

Hey, everyone! Welcome to 2019, where we don't dress up in other culture's sacred garments as costumes, okay?!

And while it seems like this is common sense, every year some celebrity (or five) shocks us with a Halloween costume that makes us do a deep, full body cringe.

Yikes!

This year, that celebrity was Pamela Anderson, who decided to dress up in a Native American headdress and lingerie.

Naturally, this did not go over very well.

"This is horrendous. In this day and age, how could you be so oblivious?" wrote one user.

"This is really disappointing & racist Pam, I thought you were better than this."

Pamela, who is Canadian, was being called out for her "ignorance to Indigenous matters."

"How the heck could @pamfoundation not know this is unacceptable in 2019? She’s Canadian and is ignorant to Indigenous matters. TBH, I really didn’t expect anything more from that woman...so uninformed in so many ways ," expressed one user.

"Native Americans are not costumes..." wrote another.

The only person Pam made a response to was to Tanya Tagaq, in which she addressed her stance on seal hunting before sharing an article titled "The Illogic of Cultural Appropriation" by Mike Rappaport.

"Spreading misinformation like this is dangerous and racist. You're spreading racist lies and hurting an already marginalized people," replied one user.

One fan tried to rationalize with the model: "Pam, you're gorgeous. Always have been, always will be. I'm asking you to please remove these pics though? This is very offensive."

They continued, "I know you are an activist with a big heart. U would look good in anything girl, just not this, please."

Here's to hoping she reflects on her choices and picks a different, non-offensive costume next year.
