Hillary Clinton Says She's Being Pressured To Run In 2020: 'Never Say Never'

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has revealed she is under "enormous pressure" to throw her hat into the already crowded ring of Democratic candidates vying for the presidency, and admitted she often thinks about "what kind of president" she would have been.

According to Business Insider, Clinton recently appeared on BBC 5 Radio with her daughter, Chelsea, where she was asked the question that's on everyone's mind: is she going to run in 2020?

In the 2016 election, Clinton won the popular vote but ultimately lost the presidency to Donald Trump.

Following this defeat, Clinton hasn't exactly expressed much interest in going head to head with Trump again in 2020.

But she's also never really closed the door on that as a possibility.

And so, many of her supporters have held on to the hope that they may see Clinton in the White House after all.

During Tuesday's interview with BBC 5 Radio, host Emma Barnett simply asked the former Democratic presidential nominee, "Are you going to run again?"

"No," Clinton responded, earning a dubious reaction from the host.

"That is 100%?" Barnett asked.

"Well," Clinton continued carefully, "you know, I never say never to anything."

She revealed that she always thinks about "what kind of president" she would have been, as well as what she would have done differently.

"So, of course, I think about it," she said. "I think about it all the time."

Whether she runs or not, she had some thoughts about what it would mean to win the election.

She said that whoever turns out to do that "is going to have a big task trying to fix everything that's been broken."

Speaking about Trump and the 2016 election, Clinton said, "I feel a sense of responsibility partly because, you know, my name was on the ballot."

"I got more votes but ended up losing to the current incumbent in the White House, who I think is really undermining our democracy in very fundamental ways."

She continued, "And I want to retire him. I want him to be retired."

Later, Barnett brought up comments made by former President Bill Clinton in which he claimed his wife "may or not ever run for anything."

"Well, look, as I say, never, never, never say never," Clinton replied. "And, I will certainly tell you, I'm under enormous pressure from many, many, many people to think about it."

"But," she added, "as of this moment, sitting here in this studio talking to you, that is absolutely not in my plans."

After Barnett pointed out that that are only a "few days left" for nominees to file their bids (the New Hampshire primary closes on Friday), Clinton agreed, "it's way past time."

Clinton was joined by her daughter, Chelsea, as part of a press tour to promote their new project, "The Book of Gutsy Women."

The two co-authored the text, which is a series of stories about the "gutsy women" who have inspired them in their lives.
