Dwyane Wade Defends His 12-Year-Old Son After He Wore A Crop Top And Fake Nails

After sharing a family photo on Thanksgiving, NBA player, Dwayne Wade, had to defend his 12-year-old son for wearing a crop top and having fake nails.

As you may already know, there are some seriously ignorant and miserable people on the Internet that find joy in criticizing harmless things.

In this case, they've taken an issue with Dwayne Wade's 12-year-old son wearing a crop top and having fake nails.

Before we get into this, I feel compelled to mention that if you have a problem with a 12-year-old boy wearing a crop top and having fake nails, mind ya business.

Worry about your own outfits and your own nails, thanks!

Anyway, Dwayne Wade heroically stepped in to defend his son against the haters and it was beautiful.

To all the dads out there: Take notes.

On Thanksgiving, Dwayne and his wife, Gabrielle Union, posed for this gorgeous family photo.

They look happy, healthy, and stylish af, and that's all that should matter.

Unfortunately, however, the trolls couldn't help themselves...

When they noticed that Dwayne's son, Zion, was rocking a crop top and acrylic nails, they forgot it was almost 2020, and got offended.

In came a horrifying amount of ridiculous comments like this one:

The only thing that "isn't normal" is criticizing a 12-year-old for how they choose to express themselves.

Thank you, next!

I'm pretty sure that cyber-bullying a child is a lot more destructive than letting him experiment with his personal style. But OK.

SMH. The savagery of these common trolls is incomprehensible.

I can't imagine having enough time on my hands to cyber-bully a 12-year-old for wearing an outfit that doesn't fit inside the unevolved social norms society has tried to condition us with.

Some people actually had the audacity to accuse Dwayne and Gabrielle of abuse.

My blood pressure just spiked reading that.

Actually, 'abuse' would be oppressing Zion from rightfully being whoever he wants to be and taking away his freedom to express himself.

I'm honestly convinced that a lot of the people hating on Zion are just jealous because he was serving looks.

He was pulling off that crop top better than I ever could!

Luckily, Zion is being raised in a forward-thinking, supportive modern family, with a father that isn't afraid to put trolls in their place.

He set things straight with a few tweets.

"I’ve seen some post-thanksgiving hate on social about my family photo," he wrote.

"Stupidity is apart of this world we live in—so i get it."

"But here’s the thing—I’ve been chosen to lead my family not y’all," he continued.

"So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile!"

Well said, Dwayne!

"As a parent my only goal is that my kids feel that i see them , love them and support them," he wrote in a separate tweet.

This was so touching.

I'm not crying, you're crying!!

Shout out to Dwayne Wade for setting such an incredible and positive example for all parents out there.

This man has a good head on his shoulders!

Don't let the haters stop you from doin' your thing, Zion! Slay on!
