Fans Are Weirded Out After Billie Eilish Revealed That Drake Texts Her

Fans aren't down to stan the friendship between Billie Eilish and Drake.

Given their 15-year age gap, fans are weirded out by the fact that Drake texts the 17-year-old singer.

Billie Eilish may be only 17, but she's already accomplished more than any of us could ever dream of.

Like, um, rubbing elbows with some of Hollywood's elite.

In a recent interview with "Vanity Fair," she name-dropped some of these celebs.

This impressive list includes Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Avril Lavigne.

She also opened up about her friendship with Drake.

"Drake is like the nicest dude I’ve ever spoken to," she began.

"I mean, I’ve only like texted him, but he’s so nice," she said.

She even called the Canadian rapper the most famous person in her phone.

She continued: "Like, he does not need to be nice, you know what I mean?"

"He’s at a level in his life where he doesn’t need to be nice, but he is, you know?"

While Billie certainly finds her friendship with the 33-year-old rapper cool, some of her fans are weirded out by it.

This has to do with the 15-year age gap between them.

On Twitter, her fans didn't hold back in expressing their disapproval towards the friendship.

Another wrote:

"i don't blame billie eilish one bit for thinking it's cool that drake wants to be her friend. i loved it when i was 17 and adult men wanted to know me. it's only in hindsight that i found it weird, and it's really on adults to interrogate what 'being nice' actually means here."

Some even see Drake's actions as him "preying" on Billie:

"Drake seems to consistently be texting underage girls and like everyone still stans him ????? WHYYYYY are men," another tweeted.

Their friendship reminded fans of when Millie Bobby Brown announced that Drake texts her.

The Stranger Things actress gushed about her friendship with Drake during last year's Emmys.

"He’s honestly so fantastic. A great friend and a great role model. We just texted each other the other day, and he was like, ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like, ‘I miss you more.’”

She also revealed that the rapper gives her advice on how to handle boys.

Once fans started to say that Drake crossed a line by texting the young star, Brown defended him.

"Why u gotta make a lovely friendship ur headline? U guys are weird...For real," she began in a post to Instagram stories.

"I'm lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance."

She continued:

"I'm very blessed to have amazing people in my life. U dont get to chose that for me. it's nice to have people understand what I do. Now get back to talking about real problems in the world other than my friendships...jeez."

Even with Millie previously defending the rapper, fans are still deeming his friendship with Billie as "creepy."

"can we talk about drake texting billie eilish and millie bobby brown... he’s a whole [expletive] grown man and they’re two underage girls... that’s some creepy [expletive] if you ask me.." another tweeted.

The reactions weren't all negative, though. Some fans defended the rapper's intentions as well.

For example, they pointed out how Drake is just trying to mentor these girls.

After all, he's been in Hollywood since he was a teen.

Some fans are bringing up a past video of Drake interacting with a 17 year old fan at a concert.

In the video from 2010, Drake pulls a fan on stage at a concert and dances with her, kissing her neck, and complimenting her shampoo.

Drake then jokes that he's getting "carried away."

When he asks the fan what her age is, she replies that she was only 17. Drake replies with, "I can't go to jail yet, man!"

"Why do you look like that?"

"You thick. Look at all this," Drake said to her. "I don't know if I should feel guilty or not, but I had fun."

Fans are using that video as evidence for a pattern of behaviour from Drake.

One fan wrote, "the fact that drake is 33 and texting teenagers AT ALL is weird. like even if it's just 'friendly' messaging...... why would he have any desire to do that. like. ask any normal 33 year old and the last thing they want to do is probably text a 17 year old."

That sentiment was echoed in a few tweets.

Of course, it's possible to be friends with someone significantly older or younger than you are, it does make you wonder what they have in common to talk about.

So far, neither Drake or Billie has spoken out about the controversy.
