Mom-shaming is not exactly new, but it seems that social media has made it easier to judge parents.
Fed-up with all the comments, one mom decided to set the record straight and own up to her so-called title of "bad mom".
Through her website, Diary of a Fit Mommy, and her social media profiles, Sia shares exercise tips and routines with her followers.
She offers workouts that are tailored specifically to women in the postpartum period. Sia has also shared how she stays active and balances life as a mom.
Influencers aren't usually known for their flaws, but in this post, Sia got real about her scars, stretch marks, and cellulite.
She said these aspects of her body used to make her self-conscious, but now, they have "zero hold" over her.
Specifically, she was fed up with other moms calling her a "bad mom" or judging her parenting style.
"If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been called a 'bad mom,' I would be soooo rich! It seems almost impossible to be a textbook or politically correct good mom these days because everywhere you turn another mom is judging your parenting choices," she said in her post.
"I’ve learned that the true 'bad moms' out there are the ones who constantly tear other moms down by judging them," she said.
"Being a mom is hard enough and if all the following make me a 'bad mom' then I’ll gladly wear it proudly! Here’s to all the bad moms out there," she said.
This mom said she felt judged when she was parenting her kids two decades ago. It's about time we stopped the mom-shaming cycle.
No one is a perfect parent and social media has made it even easier to cast judgment. As Sia said, there's no one right way to parent, so let's celebrate that instead of putting down other moms.
