Russell Crowe Didn't Attend The Golden Globes To Protect His Family From Australian Bushfires

Russell Crowe, is, as people all over the world are, saddened by what is going on in Australia right now.

People and animals are losing their homes, and because of that Crowe took it upon himself to make sure he stayed in Australia to help as much as he can.

The Golden Globes are over, but that doesn't mean people are done talking about the most important moments.

One of those moments had to do with the fact that Russell Crowe did not attend the show, so he could stay in Australia to protect his family.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon presented the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

The award ended up going to Crowe for his role in The Loudest Voice, where he played Roger Ailes.

Even though he could not attend, he gave a powerful statement about the fires.

“Make no mistake, the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change-based,” the statement read. “We need to act based on science, move our global workplace to renewable energy and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is — that way we all have a future. Thank you.”

As it should have been.
