Dad Comes Up With Brilliant Hack So He Can Nap While Watching His Kids

Most parents would do anything to get a little extra shut-eye. Kids are supposed to be the ones who need 12+ hours of sleep in a day, but personally, I have not seen any evidence of this.

If you are a tired parent looking for a way to sneak in a few winks, you might just want to steal this dad's genius idea.

If there is one thing that parents would wish for, it would probably to get some more sleep.

Parenting, to put it mildly, is probably one of the most exhausting jobs known to mankind.

Add in a full-time job and most parents are looking at a severe lack of sleep.

If you're already a parent, then you know what I'm talking about. If you aren't, have some sympathy for your friends and family members who currently have young children at home.

But leave it to dads to come up with genius hacks that make parenting easier.

I don't know where they think of this stuff, but if it works, it works.

One mom recently shared her husband's genius hack to get a little rest.

Monica Weber from Colorado took to Facebook to share her husband's genius and, if I'm being honest, hilarious hack.

Monica's husband, Michael, is an OR nurse who had just completed a 12-hour shift.

Even though he was exhausted, Michael told Monica to head out to the grocery store to get a few essentials while he stayed home with the kids.

When Monica returned from the store, this was the scene that greeted her.

While Michael rested his eyes, he told his kids he was "posing" and had them try to sketch him while he curled up on the couch. He even told the kids, the best artist would win a chocolate. LOL!

I know what you're thinking — this dad is a genius.

Now I'm just thinking back to all the times where I could have used this hack with my son. Why didn't I know about this sooner?

Monica shared Michael's hilarious idea on Facebook and thought it was brilliant.

"He has them doing 'realism art' while he "poses" AKA naps. The winner gets a chocolate, but let's be honest, @michael.w.weberjr is the one winning lmao," Monica wrote on Facebook.

Monica and Michael's post has racked up over 37,000 shares and 10,000 comments on Facebook.

Most people, including a number of parents, agreed that this might be one of the best parenting hacks of all time.

While there were some safety concerns, Monica assured people that Michael was just resting his eyes and not in a deep sleep.

Overall, many people praised this idea and thought it was a creative way to keep the kids entertained.

A lot of parents wish that had thought of this idea themselves.

I put myself in the group of parents who wish they had been clever enough to think of this.

It seems that a lot of parents are going to give this idea a try.

This includes me. I am definitely going to try this ASAP.

Parents aren't the only ones loving this idea. Monica and Michael's kids love it, too!

"I took the [picture] upon my return when all the kids Shhed me because they wanted to finish their drawing," Monica said in her post. Kids will get super competitive when chocolate is involved.

We have to give credit where credit is due.

Most parents out there would love to close their eyes and rest for a few minutes, so I'm sure at least a few people will be trying this hack soon with their kids.
