Netflix Star Celeste Barber Helps Raise More Than $32 Million For Australian Wildfires

There has been immeasurable devastation and destruction caused by the wildfires that have been burning in Australia since September of last year, including over twenty casualties, forced evacuations, and wildlife being forced to flee from their habitats.

Celebrities all around the world have been raising awareness and making their own donations to help with the cause.

Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Chris Hemsworth, Margot Robbie, Elton John, Kylie Jenner, and many more celebrities have all lent their platforms and their money to try to help fight back against the wildfires.

Actress and comedian Celeste Barber, from Netflix's 'The Letdown' and from viral Instagram posts imitating celebrities, has helped raise an incredible amount of money towards wildfire relief.

In early January, Celeste launched a Facebook fundraiser that benefited The Trustee for NSW Rural Fire Services & Brigades Donation Fund, which collects donations for rural fire services and brigades in Australia that are working to contain these fires.

In under a week, the fundraiser had raised more than $32 million.

“This is incredible,” Celeste tweeted with a screenshot of how much money had been raised. “Power to the people.”

Celeste hasn't given up her fundraising efforts, and has now set a new goal for $50 million.
