Kylie Jenner Donates $1 Million To Australian Wildfire Relief After Backlash

While the wildfires that are currently devastating much of Australia continue to burn and have been burning since September, the pressure for celebrities to raise awareness and donate towards the cause is extremely high.

Recently, the Kardashian-Jenners were called out by a Twitter user for not donating towards helping fight the fires.

A now-deleted Tweet that Kim Kardashian responded to read, "Nothing gets me more heated than to see the Kardashians/Jenners talk about climate change/wildfires & not donate even a penny.”

Kylie Jenner received backlash on social media after an unfortunate coincidence in the timing of posts on her story that many were calling tone-deaf.

Kylie initially shared a post to her Instagram story that stated that over half a billion animals had been killed in Australia due to the fires. "This breaks my heart..." she captioned the image.

However, the next post in her story was Kylie wearing mink fur slippers.

Many found Kylie's sadness for the animals in Australia insincere since she followed it with a post containing a shot of her wearing real fur.

Kylie seemingly has seen the backlash and has responded by donating $1 million towards the cause.

People confirms that Kylie has made this massive donation, joining the likes of celebrities like Elton John and Chris Hemsworth in providing relief and funding to the firefighting efforts in Australia.
