Netflix Releases Official Timeline Of 'The Witcher' Season 1

As good as The Witcher is, it can be pretty darn confusing from time to time. Luckily for all of us (a.k.a. everybody, a.k.a. The Witcher fans), Netflix has posted the timeline for The Witcher series.

Just so, you know, everyone can understand what the heck is going on.

Be warned!

'The Witcher' has been great.

Netflix

It got us through the winter holidays, and now, we are patiently awaiting the second season (very patiently, considering it probably won't come out until the far off year of 2021).

The show delivered on all fronts.

Netflix

It had amazing action sequences, intense discussions that didn't bore people, lots of monsters, and a shirtless Henry Cavill.

What's not to love?

Where to begin...

Netflix

Episode 1, I guess.

We meet our buddy Gerry Of Riviera when he's fighting what we know as a "Spider-creature," but what Witcher fans know as a "kikimora."

There he meets Renfri, a princess turned Bandit who is being threatened by the wizard Stregobor.

Netflix

Stregobor thinks she's evil or something because she was born on a full moon, and asks Gerry to kill her.

Gerry refuses, Renfri offers a counteroffer, which Gerry also refuses.

He instead gives her an ultimatum: leave or die.

Netflix

Renfri says: "I don't give a f*** what you think, Gerry" and goes to kill that old kook Stregobor.

Geralt kills her men, mortally wounds her and then moves on (after the townsfolk tell him to frick off).

Meanwhile, there's this kingdom called Cintra and it's being conquered.

Netflix

A Princess named Princess Cirilla manages to escape the sacking, and it's also revealed she is magic..

That's when we meet Yennefer in Episode 2...

Netflix

She is a hunchback who is sold to Tissaia de Vries by her father (that's so harsh parenting).

She learns some magic stuff, and meanwhile, Gerry and Ciri (the Princess from before) meet some elves (separately, oddly enough).

In Episode 3, Yennefer and Istredd, two students under the tutelage of wizards, fall in love while finishing their training.

Netflix

Eventually, the two break up, and Yennefer becomes beautiful through magic at the cost of her fertility (one of those spells, eh?).

In the same episode, our yellow-eyed pal Geralt is gearing up (and eventually faces) a monster called a Shtriga in order to lift some curse.

Netflix

Guess how that turns out. If you said "he dies" then you're wrong.

A lot of cool stuff happens in Episode 4...

Netflix

But all you really have to know is that Geralt envokes the law of surprise on this new couple, right after we find out that the woman is pregnant (so the daughter is promised to him).

Episode 5 deals with a Djinn, wishes, some death also Geralt and Yennefer finally meet.

Netflix

They end up being attracted to each other and end up having quite a good time with one another.

Their destinies are officially linked.

As for the rest...

Netflix

Well, you'll have to go and watch the show on Netflix! I can't just write a whole synopsis for you here, that would be taking away from the show!

Which is such an amazing show.

However, there was one thing that irked us.

Netflix

On occasion, we were pretty confused as to which (or should I say "witch") events were happening over each episode.

Timelines even collided during a single episode!

Well, here's the timeline:

And it's as simple as you'd think it is:

Some events from episode 1 happen last, and some are in the middle. All in all, it is totally understandable that you were confused.

So now, you have a viewing order!

Netflix

Despite the fact that The Witcher got a little confusing for some people, that didn't take away from the fact that people just loved it.
