Rush Drummer And Lyricist Neil Peart Dead At 67

Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist for iconic Canadian rock band Rush died on Tuesday, January 7th in California at the age of 67.

Peart was considered by many to be one of the best drummers in the world.

Peart was a legendary drummer for the band Rush, known for hit songs like "Closer To The Heart," "Red Barchetta," and "Limelight." Peart was well-known for his use of a 360-degree drum set when performing.

Peart's cause of death was confirmed as brain cancer.

A representative for the band confirmed to Rolling Stone that he had been quietly battling the disease for three years.

Peart was 67.
