Robin McGraw Reveals She Got An Eyebrow Transplant That Completely Changed Her Look

Dr. Phil's wife, Robin McGraw, recently revealed on her podcast, I’ve Got a Secret!, that she underwent an eyebrow transplant that completely changed the look of her face.

Robin McGraw, Dr. Phil's wife, recently revealed on her podcast that she underwent an eyebrow transplant surgery a few years ago.

I don't know about you, but I've never heard of such a thing!

She explained that the transplant completely changed the look of her face, in a good way.

“It brought my entire face into proportion,” she said.

“And In my opinion, it actually changed my look," she added.

The surgeon who performed the transplant back in 2011, Dr. Marc Dauer, did so by using a piece of her scalp along with the hair follicles to graft new eyebrows.

Dr. Marc Dauer, who was a guest on Robin's podcast, explained how the procedure works exactly.

He revealed that overall, the procedure is noninvasive, but can make a big difference to the look of someone's face.

“Eyebrows are such a defining feature of the face…They’re so crucial to framing your face,” he said.

“If they start too far over or if they’re just missing in different places, it just changes your whole look.”

While filling your eyebrows in with makeup can temporarily do the trick in many cases, Robin felt she needed to take more permanent measures.

She admitted that before having the surgery, she hated her brows so much that she got bangs to cover them.

“Because of you and my eyebrow transplant, I let my bangs grow out and I was so happy,” she told Dr. Marc.

“To this day, I have eyebrows that I just love.”

It's wild how something as simple as eyebrows can change the entire look of your face.

Her new brows look amazing!

Dr. Marc added that his patients receive compliments from people all the time saying that they look different, but they can't tell what's changed.

“People come to them and say, ‘You look younger’ or, ‘Did you lose weight?’” he said. “They can’t pinpoint it.”

According to his website, the procedure usually involves placing between 250 to 400 hairs on each eyebrow and takes six to eight hours to complete.

“For seven days after the eyebrow transplant surgery there will be tiny scabs which appear like dots of sand on the skin," the site reads.

"And then these fall off, leaving the eyebrow looking pretty much like it did before the surgery."

“There is also a slight pinkness in the transplanted skin that persists for four to twelve weeks after the procedure depending on how quickly the patient heals.”

Most patients experience swelling and bruising around the eye-area for three to five days following the procedure and should avoid wearing makeup during that period.

And according to the website, many patients will have to undergo two rounds of this procedure if they're looking for “greater density.”

Dr. Marc shared this photo to Instagram following his visit on Robin's pocast.
