Dad Transforms Drab Living Room Into The Ultimate Playroom For His Son

Have you ever put your handyman skills to good use? Perhaps you've embarked on some sort of home improvement project that brought joy to the rest of your family.

This handy dad actually decided to turn his entire living room into a fantastic playroom for his young son. If only we all had such mad home improvement skills.

When Carl Raine recently moved into his new house he knew there would be some renovations that would be needed.

Especially when it came to his living room.

Instead of the typical living room set-up that most people decide upon, he thought of something entirely different.

He created a fun and playful space for his son.

Even though the room wasn't all that big to begin with Carl decided to keep as much free floor space as possible so his son Oakley can roam around.

Kids need lots of space to do that!

To accomplish that, he came up with the idea of making the playroom have two levels.

Then he incorporated all the things his son enjoyed doing inside the room.

He made sure there were plenty of things Oakley can explore such as a fun slide, a playful ball pit, and lots of steps and things he can climb on.

This looks awesome!

Carl also added some mechanical things into the room design such as an abacus, a basketball hoop, and a velcro board.

All of these would help Oakley develop his motor skills.

The idea of the room was so that Oakley can be able to discover, learn and explore things naturally that could help him grow and stay active.

It's a great for the winter months, too!

He also made sure there were a few tunnels where his child could hide in case he needed to find a quiet place to rest between all the activities.

Adorable!

The entire project ended up costing around $1,037.

Being in the trade, Carl was able to build it all by himself and was able to find reasonably priced materials.

Looking at the pictures it's apparent that his little boy is totally enjoying himself.

It must be so fun to have a place like this to come to every day.

When Carl posted pictures of his handy work on Facebook people were really impressed.

Some of them commented that Oakley is one lucky child to have a dad like this.

Carl actually feels like he's the lucky one to have a son with whom he can share something like this.

And he's able to enjoy it through his child's eyes.

Other people even jokingly commented that they will be dropping their kids off at his place to play from now on.

Ha, ha. I don't blame them. This is awesome!

Would you go as far as transforming your entire living room space to create a playroom for your child?

Or is that a little too much for you?
