Kelly Clarkson Gives Tribute To Movie 'From Justin To Kelly': 'It Was Horrible'

if you thought From Justin To Kelly was horrible, you're not alone.

Kelly Clarkson just made some truthful comments on the film and she did not hold back.

Don't expect Kelly Clarkson to sing "From Justin to Kelly's" praises!

The singer just said what we've all been thinking about the 2003 musical flick: "it was horrible."

Clarkson had a less-than-stellar time when filming the 2003 flick, which also starred "American Idol" runner-up, Justin Guarini.

The American Idol winner told The Los Angeles Times that she "cried" a lot and even tried to get her lawyers to get her out the film.

“I just didn’t believe in it, first of all. I’m not a beach blanket-movie kind of girl," she said about the film, which was centered around two people who fall in love during Spring Break.

IMDB

"And I didn’t want it to deter or ruin any chance of me being able to go down the path I actually auditioned for on ‘Idol.'"

She couldn't back out of it since she was contractually obligated after winning "American Idol."

Thankfully, though, the big-wigs behind the film did grant her one big wish.

“They did give me this: I begged them — since I had to do it contractually — I wanted my single to be released before the movie came out and I think that literally saved my career."

IMDB

"It was ‘Miss Independent’. The fact that that was successful, I think that overcame what the movie was.”

This truly was her saving grace since the movie ended up bombing terribly.

It only grossed $4.9 million in theaters and scored just 10% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It also won many Razzie awards.

For example, "Worst 'Musical' of Our First 25 Years," "Worst Actress," and "Worst Screen Couple."

These days, the singer is still working in front of the camera.

She's one of the judges on The Voice and she even has her own talk show!

Recently, she sat down and chatted with Daytime TV legend, Jerry Springer.

During their interview, they got to talking about their widely-unsuccessful movie careers.

“You also made a movie,” Clarkson said, causing Springer to respond with, “And so did you, fancy pants.”

“And mine was contractually obligated. It was horrible. How was yours?” said Clarkson

When Springer replied with "horrible," the pair high-fived.

“Yeah! Razzies for the both of us," Clarkson exclaimed.

When Kelly asked how long his movie was, he cracked back with, "it was two hours too long."

Then, he explained the premise behind the 1998 movie he did called Ringmaster.

The movie, which was based around Jerry's real-life career as a talk show host, currently has 21 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Hey, at least he's got Kelly beat.

The film was released at the height of his Jerry Springer Show fame.

Surprisingly, both Kelly and Jerry went on to act again after their previous film disasters.

In 2019, Kelly starred in STX’s UglyDolls, where she voiced the animated character Moxy.

“This role could not be more me,” she told The Los Angeles Times."

I get really nervous acting, so I don’t generally do it. I don’t like it," she shared.

"I tend to stay in my comfort zone. But this was kind of awesome, because I thought: I’m not going to have to act ... this is basically my character in life.”

Unfortunately, the film bombed, too.

It only received 32 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, despite having a star-studded cast of Clarkson, Nick Jonas, and Pitbull.

After these difficult experiences, it's hard to say whether Kelly will act ever again.

For now, though, she's got an amazing singing voice, her judge spot on The Voice, and hertalk show going for her!

Not too shabby.
