Fans on Twitter are calling out Jim Carrey for making a "creepy" and "condescending" joke while speaking to Margot Robbie on The Graham Norton Show.
Here's the scoop!
And Jim Carrey is no exception!
After taking a "creepy" joke three steps too far, Twitter is not letting him hear the end of it anytime soon.
While Margot was able to laugh it off in the moment, her fans have been rushing to her defense on Twitter.
But, he did leave a sour taste in the mouths of his fans by making a borderline sexist joke that the entire world and Margot probably could have gone without.
While playfully singing Margot's praises, Jim made a joke that, essentially, diminished her talent entirely and credited her success only to her good looks.
"You’re really something, Margot Robbie," he began.
"That's pure talent there," he said, sarcastically. "Just a talent override."
It probably wasn't necessary of him to stress so much that she owes her talent to her good looks, however...
Suggesting that he felt emboldened sitting next to a woman.
If Jim, or anyone else, needed proof that she is, in fact, a great actor and not just a pretty face — there you have it!
Just because she is attractive doesn't mean she lacks substance or skill!
After mentioning that he has never been to Australia, He supposedly asked her, sarcastically, if she is aboriginal.
There is no way to know for sure, but he has been goofy and outspoken his entire career, there's a good chance he might have made a similar joke to a good-looking male actor as well.
There are plenty of comedians out there who have made bad jokes and haven't been blacklisted. Maybe he deserves the peanut gallery to cut him some slack?
Comedians have been known to make inappropriate jokes at the expense of other people's feelings — that is true.
For all we know, maybe Jim apologized to Margot after the show for making her the punchline of his joke.
