In the most cringe-worthy and awkward interview of all time, Nick and Vanessa Lachey denied ever giving Nick's ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, a baby gift, even though (supposedly) Jessica could have sworn that they did.
By the sounds of it, the book is going to be real af.
It sounds like we're going to get to know her on a whole other level!
A key thing to remember here is that Jessica mentioned that she received a "beautiful" gift from Nick and Vanessa.
The pair initially met in 1998 under professional circumstances, but began dating shortly after that.
Nick proposed to Jessica in early 2002 and were married not long after.
"I believe that Nick and I are going to last forever. And if we don't, it'll make a good reality show," Jessica told Rolling Stone that year.
"You could feel there was tension between the two of them. They were very different people," the producer of the show told Complex in 2017.
"In the end, they weren't suited for each other. The only thing they really had in common was their music," they added.
Fortunately, both she and Nick bounced back quickly.
Nick released his hit single "What's Left Of Me" and married former MTV VJ, Vanessa Minnillo, and Jessica met her husband, Eric Johnson.
Things got very awkward.
"She kept saying 'They sent me something beautiful when we had our children.'"
"I'll be honest, I haven't read the book," Nick replied. "So, I don't know what she said or what she revealed. But certainly happy for her and her life, and she's happy for us."
But when Nick was finished talking, Vanessa circled back to the comment about the "beautiful" gift — completely confused.
"She got something nice from you guys after — I don't remember — some moment in her life. She thought it was sweet," Hoda clarified. "She was kind of saying 'Thanks' to you guys."
"I didn't!," she fired back. "I didn't. I don't even know her address. But thank you, whoever sent it from us."
