Funko has recently launched a new collaboration which aims to generate money that will go towards helping animals who have been affected by recent Australian Bushfires.

Recent Australian bush fires had a devastating effect across the country.

The damage done during the 2019/2020 Australian bushfire season was catastrophic. 25 people were killed in New South Wales, 3 were also killed in Southern Australia, with another 5 people having died in Victoria, according to the Daily Mail.

However, it wasn't just humans that felt the effects of the fires.

A lot of Australia’s wildlife also fell victim to the ravaging fires.

One of the animals whose population that was left particularly disrupted was that of the koala population.

In fact, Port Macquarie on the New South Wales mid-north coast suffered a loss of 85% of their koala population, a parliamentary hearing found.

However, one toy company is coming to the rescue.

Odds are you have seen a Funko vinyl figure before — I mean, they have one of pretty much everything nowadays!

However, the company has temporarily moved away from selling figurines of pop culture icons and moved towards a more charitable goal.

The company has released a vinyl figure of a fireman hugging a koala.

The figurine was developed in conjunction with PopCultcha, with all of the proceeds going towards helping animals who have been displaced or injured as a result of the Australian bushfires. Specifically, the proceeds will go directly to RSPCA National Bushfire Appeal.

There are only a limited number of these adorable firefighters available.

Funko's figurines are renowned for being widely collectible, and this particular figure is likely to have a lot of collectors wanting to get their hands on one.

The product's description explains: "[All profits] will be donated to the RSPCA National Bushfire Appeal through monthly payments until sold out. The RSPCA is working alongside government and emergency agencies, veterinarians and local authorities to provide much-needed equipment and supplies, emergency care and identifying and assessing injured animals in need of assistance. Their work will continue for months after the fires have ceased."

You can pre-order the figure now for $19.99.

$19.99 is a fairly standard price for an exclusive Funko figurine, so if you're planning on buying one, why not make it this one and do some good for the animals of Australia! You can preorder this adorable figure on Popcultcha's website.

Hopefully this will provide some much-needed help to those poor animals.

Due to the extent of the damage done to the Koala population, NSW Greens MP Cate Faehrmann has said that the government need to open their eyes and "really prioritise securing and protecting their habitat now" to prevent extinction.

Hopefully, the government take notice, because what would we do without those loveable little guys in our lives?
