Her Husband Died 8 Years Ago But He Still Sends Her Flowers Every Valentine's Day

In 2012, 53-year-old Rich Cox lost his battle to throat cancer and tragically passed away, leaving behind his heartbroken wife of 26 years, Tracey.

But despite the fact that he's been gone for eight years now, Rich has made sure his wife gets a beautiful flower arrangement Valentine's Day, even if he's not there to give them to her himself.

The first delivery came in 2013, just one year after Rich had died, leaving Tracey understandably shocked.

The flowers were for both Valentine's day and for her birthday, which are only one day apart.

"It was really emotional," Tracey told CNN. "It was sad, but also happy at the same time because I just knew he'd always be with me."

Tracey believed this was just a one-time surprise delivery that her husband had arranged prior to his passing.

But in 2014, another arrangement arrived. And then another in 2015. And another in 2016.

In fact, the deliveries haven't stopped, and she's received flowers every Valentine's Day for the last eight years.

Each arrangement also includes a new note from her late husband.

Although the actual message changes every year, what remains the same is Rich's obvious love for his wife.

In 2018, the note read, "Tracey, even though you can't see me, I am always here. I love you. Love Rich."

Tracey said Rich was a loving husband, the kind who would buy her flowers just because.

She also said the annual flower deliveries help her remember her late husband and all the wonderful times they shared together.

"Every time I get them, it really brings back a lot of emotions and joyful tears," she explained. "It really brings back all the memories we were able to make together."

As it turns out, Rich told the couple's four children about his plan for the surprise deliveries.

"He's literally the role model of a man that every woman wants to find," the pair's daughter, Bethany, told CNN. "A true love story."

She added, "We don't know exactly how it's done, but we do know that they won't stop any time soon,"
