Chrissy Teigen Discusses Vegans And Other Groups Who Mom-Shame Her: 'They Freak Out'

Chrissy Teigen, the queen of clapbacks, opened up in an interview with Today Parents about the number one thing trolls mom-shame her about on social media.

Chrissy Teigen KNOWS how to handle mommy-shamers. She deals with it all the time

Like the time she had to defend her decision to do IVF.

Calling Linda a complete witch? Absolutely a way nicer word than I would have used!

Or the time she dragged someone for questioning why she no longer chooses to breastfeed.

This was the perfect comeback.

When are people going to learn that there is no shame in the formula game?

SMH.

Or the time Chrissy posted a video on Instagram of her daughter, Luna, and somebody made a negative comment about her hair.

"Finally someone brushed her hair," a troll commented on the video.

"All by herself," Chrissy replied. "Maybe she can come do your makeup."

BURN.

Or the time somebody called her a bad role model to her daughter for swearing on social media.

Not only does Chrissy's three-year-old daughter not have Twitter (because what toddler has Twitter?), but she also probably can't even read yet. Nice try, @j_roc83!

She has had to learn to develop a "thicker skin" in order to handle the incessant negativity online, and some of the struggles of being a mom.

"When Luna was a little baby, I would get so sad," she said.

"I remember being bummed out because I felt like she didn't love me as much as she loved John."

"It was the dumbest silliest thing to worry about," she recalled.

"Now, when Miles pulls away from me, I’m not taking it the same way."

"I know how strong Luna and my bond is, and I know Miles and I will be there too," she said.

"You can’t take anything personally."

She then reminded moms out there not to be too hard on themselves, and applaud themselves instead.

"Hearing that nine out of 10 moms don’t feel like they’re doing a good enough job is terrible," she said.

"We're all so worried that we're not doing all that we can, when we really are."

But let's get into the shaming, shall we?

In an interview with Today Parents, Chrissy Teigen revealed what gets her mom-shamed by trolls the most.

Being in the public eye makes her vulnerable to constant criticism online.

"It's pretty much everything," she said.

"Any time I post a picture of them holding ribs or eating sausage, I get a lot of criticism."

She explained that vegans and vegetarians especially take offense to seeing her children being fed animal products.

"Vegans and vegetarians are mad and feel that we’re forcing meat upon them at a young age. They freak out," she said.

She added that if she or her husband, John Legend, share any photos of their children, Luna, 3, and Miles, 1, in a car or at home, they are immediately criticized for one thing or another.

"If they get a glimpse of the car seat there is a lot of buckle talk," she said.

"Maybe for one half of a second, the strap slipped down."

"And TV is another big one. We have TV on a lot in my house," she continued.

"John and I work on television; we love watching television."

She went on to say that although her reactions to backlash online are often cool and sassy, it "of course" gets under her skin sometimes.
