'Young Sheldon' To Possibly Address Huge 'Big Bang Theory' Storyline

Could this possibly be an attempt to gain some more viewers? By further deepening the link between Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory?

It may just be a ploy, but hey, we love everything The Big Bang Theory as it is so the more the better, I say!

So there's a storyline from "The Big Bang Theory" that "Young Sheldon" wants to address

NBC

One from "The Hot Tub Contamination", where Sheldon reveals to Penny that he once walked in on his father making love to another woman, and it scarred him for life.

It's actually for this reason that he knocks three times when he enters a room.

CBS

So how are they going to address that on Young Sheldon? It would be, after all, the best time to show that happening.

Well, showrunner Steve Molaro isn't all that sure. But he's aware of the storyline.

"I don't know what we're going to do about that. I'm aware of it, I know it exists."

CBS

"I also know that… Adult Sheldon may not want to tell the audience that story. So maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. That doesn't mean we need to see it."

But that might not be the final solution:

CBS

"Also, maybe there's a path where what he thought happened then, and what he finds out now, [is] different. I don't know… It's an interesting area of the show"
